May 24, 200521 yr >Hi lads,>with Your permit, me question:>Can i select the aircraft and airports in Linux similar way>either as Windows{graphic mode)?>command line(in Linux) -much a complicated way for my>friends...IF you are referring to the selection of aircraft at startup, you should look into fgrun (sourceforge project), this is basically a cross-platform GUI wrapper around FlightGear's command line options:http://sourceforge.net/projects/fgrunHowever, selection/switching of aircraft at runtime (i.e. after FG has started) is currently not yet fully implemented, neither in command line mode, nor using the GUI.Make sure to check out flightgear.org for the most recent information about affiliated projects, webpages and other relevant resources. Also, the mailing list archives at flightgear.org can be tremendously useful !HTH
May 24, 200521 yr Thank you for reply and link. I have understood...-----------------However -this Great Sim, in the same way either as Linux systems, hehe!
February 4, 200719 yr trying to get fgrun installed. I realized this is an old thread, but...I installed simgear; that installation went smoothly. While trying to install fgrun, however, the installation asked for various other files, which I installed via Synaptic. (I'm running FGFS in PCLOS 0.93)Still, problems getting this fgrun package to work. Here's hoping that someone else has figured it out as I was unable to find installation help.I'm doing this out of my home directory; perhaps the package should be run from inside FGFS in /usr/share/games instead?Any ideas, PLEASE?
February 8, 200719 yr You can use KfreeFlight if you have KDE : http://kfreeflight.sourceforge.net/Best regards
February 8, 200719 yr Thanks, helijah! Now I need to find and install automake 1.9 for my system (PCLOS). The current automake 1.8 apparently won't work with the installer. So close and yet so far. Thanks for the tip. ./configure went perfectly after installing a few other utilities. Will post here again once the remaining problems are resolved.
March 8, 200719 yr >You can use KfreeFlight if you have KDE :>http://kfreeflight.sourceforge.net/>>Best regardsThanks for the info on Kfreeflight.....I would like to install that package....has anybody got it to run on Ubuntu Edgy....I have been trying to get it installed but have not yet had sucess. Looks like a great option for FlightGear....any help/inof would be appreciated.Doc
March 29, 200719 yr HiI haven't tried the install yet. I have noticed though that flightgear is available through the file repositories for Ubuntu Edgy so you might give that a try. This is the course I will follow when I finally get around to installing it.Regards Pete
