April 4, 200422 yr Hi all, I have spent about 3 days getting know the Abacus Aircraft Repaint program and what an amazing program it is. Here is my problem and I know there are alot of you awsome painters out their. I have made a new Variation of the Lear jet 45 with full custom colors. If you load the textures for the lear you will notice the big white space on the top of the screen in the texture edit menu which is the fuesalge. There are no windows on this and there is no left or right but I have successfully painted the whole aircraft. When I tried to apply the TEXT using the Text editing tool I noticed the text appears the right way on the left side of the jet and on the other side it appears backwards as if the text was in a mirror. Does anyone know how to get text to apper the right way on both sides of the aircraft?? I much appriciated any help. I found no info in the help manual about this. Thanks, Joe
April 6, 200422 yr Joe, Unfortunately there is no way around this. It is caused by the way the textures were applied to the model in the design stages. Basically, they took one texture and assigned it to both sides of the fuselage. That is why when you applied the text it came out mirrored on one side.
April 10, 200422 yr Hey Joe, as Eric said, it's the way MS textured it when they designed it. There are only 4 places you can put a text or a design, the tail and then there is a small area on either side that you can add text, otherwise it is mirrored.Regards, MichaelKDFWhttp://www.calvirair.com/mcpics/PBTMCa.jpgCalVirAir International VACougar Mountain Helicopters & Aviation[link:www.cgrmtnhelos.com]Cougar Mountain Helicoptershttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/70899.jpg Best, Michael KDFW
April 13, 200422 yr Hi Guys, I figured out a neat trick. I simply erase the text then I use the eye dropper to sample the color and use the spray can to change area behind the text. Then I write the text and keep checking that it is not on the wrong side by looking at the 3D view. At a certain point of the fuselage it starts to mirror so you just back it off until it is visable on the left side of the Aircraft. Finally I edit copy and save the template. Then I reload the template and the new opens exactly the same spot you saved it in. Then I use the special tool to flip the text horizontal causing it to appear back wards so then I place the text on the aircraft where it would be mirrore and now it appears correct. Thanks for help guys. Joe
