April 11, 200422 yr I have just painted a UPS cargo plane and ended up copying the logo from a picture. The font is close to Arial so I just typed that in.I am now working on a British Airways (Union) paint and I am not sure how to paint the logo and the fonts are not standard. Any help greatly appreciated.Mark. Mark CYYZ
April 14, 200422 yr Hi Mark,Normally I hand draw all my logo's, I find that I get better result's that way rather than ripping them off a photo, PSP's vector tools make making logos very easy.As for fonts, if I have not got a font installed on my system, I will search around all of the free fonts sites for the font that is used, normally I can find it pretty quickly, sometimes I have to settle for one that is very close though.Hope that helps a littleDan.
April 14, 200422 yr Author Thanks, that pretty much what I did. Hand painted the BA logo and paint scheme using the path tool. BA font is proprietary but someone online pointed out it is the same as Optima so that is what I used. Looks fairly good and the drawing it myself was certainly more satisfying.Mark. Mark CYYZ
April 14, 200422 yr Well don't hold us in suspenders, lets have a peek at the finished result!!! ;)Dan.

April 16, 200422 yr for logo's check this website http://www.brandsoftheworld.com/it has lots of logo's i think you will find this handy for painting aircraft but to get the best result handpainted (or from a photo) gives the best result for me in anyway..Great job on the paint so far!Cheers,Tom Harlaarhttp://img32.photobucket.com/albums/v95/St...ng/Sig_copy.gif-if you find a spelling mistake... you may keep it ;)-
April 17, 200422 yr The current British Airways colour scheme (as unveiled in 1997) uses a proprietary typeface called Mylius which isn't on public release (at least the ttf files aren't). Commissioned specifically as part of the rebranding project - Utopia. The 'British Airways' logo itself is a slightly thicker variation called 'Mylius Headline Bold'.The 'Mylius' typeface is used on publicity material, signage, etc. Another variation 'Mylius Sans' is commonly used for technical/internal documentation and reports.Optima is the closest publicly available font to the typeface used in logo to the earlier (80/90's) Landor colour scheme.
