May 7, 200422 yr Hi all,I'm new to flight sim but not to Photoshop, can anyone give me some advice as to how to go about painting an aircraft. So far as far as I understand it I need the reference for the livery and Photoshop to actually paint the various segments. That I can deal with, after that it gets a little fuzzy! What files do I need to actually paint with-ie the body of the jet itself? Are these bitmaps and if so where do I actually download them from. After that how the hell are they then transformed into the 3d model itself? Many thanks in advance, I'll keep trawling throught the posts in an attempt to glean some more info.RegardsSlain.
May 7, 200422 yr Excellent tutorial attached uses photoshop. Make sure you double check which file type your working on and follow exactly. First aircraft I did I went ahead of myself, plane was half completed before I realized something was wrong. Hadnt read directions properly, but in end turned out fine.http://forum.projectopensky.com/index.php?showtopic=5297
May 24, 200422 yr There is a good tutorial by Tom Gibson at Freeflight Design Shop. Look under Tutorials at http://www.freeflightdesign.com .If military subjects are more your interest there is also a good one by Michael Davies at Alpha Simulations (http://www.alphasim.co.uk). It can be downloaded from Netwings.org on their Utilities Download page (http://www.netwings.org/library/Utilities/). If you're still looking, go to www.aluminumcloud.com and look under "Tutorial Stuff".Hope this helps.---------Frank SafranekMirage Aircraft for Flight Simulatorhttp://www.mirage4fs.com Frank Safranek - Alphasim/Virtavia Paint Crew
