November 1, 200520 yr I posted this question on the 'General' MSFS board last week, and after going as far as we could there one of the guys suggested bringing the question here.I'd been working with the *marvelous* FFX/SGA 737-200 (this goes for other fantastic freeware planes also) and wanted to tone down the shine. When I lightened the alpha channel and it didn't have any effect, I figured I had to be doing something wrong. The guys there made me realize that I was really up against dynamic shine built into the model. The only suggestion was to try a newer BMPMAP.TXT to cut it down, but it didn't really do much. This might be a dead end, but if anyone has any ideas...Thanks! ...Dave
November 2, 200520 yr If its dynamic shine then I think there really isn't much you can do about it, sorry I couldn't be of more help. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
November 4, 200520 yr Author I kind of thought it would end up that way.The irony of this is that if the model were not so darned good to start with, it wouldn't be worth trying to correct, and this thread wouldn't even be here!BTW, near perfection can be seen in the 737-300, which has nice, subtle reflections and many fine details (don't know about the FDE yet.)...Dave
