Repainting for FSX

Featured Replies

I need to begin repainting the standard FSX aircraft. How can I deal with the different textures in there?. I know there is a dynamic reflection texture and that it uses the DDS format, but I don't want to just import old FS2004 aircraft in there, because it will loose dynamic reflection abilities. How can I paint the reflection texture, is it a special photoshop filter that I need to apply? brightness or contrast settings, etc.?Am I making any sense?I have plenty of repaint experience for fs2002 and 2004, btw.

Well, I can see I'm not making any sense. I talk about the "Specular" file. How do I create it from the main texture file?

I would have thought it'd be better to wait for the SDK, in it will explain how the new texture files work. In short.. I'm not entirely sure what it does..
