Adding Waypoints

Featured Replies

This may seem foolish, but I'm trying to update the info for the Fredericton Airport (CYFC). The airport layout in FS2K4 is old. The apron layout was all wrong, the ILS runway has been changed, and extended therefore the approaches are all wrong. I've updated the airport layout using AFCAD, but I want to add the necessary Waypoints for the new ILS09 approach. I decompiled the .bgl file with the Fredericton airport and area and edited the .xml adding all the waypoints. I tried to recompile the .xml back to a .bgl using bglcomp from Microsoft and was met with a bevy of errors. Any advice?

Two points:Are you certain that the original .bgl has been decompilied correctly? Check it against the SDK requirements. If it has then how about correcting the errors? BGLCOMP shows where it's detected them.As well as changing waypoints you may need to change the approaches, depending on the other changes you have made, to ensure that ATC still recognises them.

This post is really old, but maybe the author will come back and read it.I have just created a small tool that would serve your purpose great: it allows you to add intersections, VORs, DMEs and NDBs to FS9 without having to mess about with the xmls.Just modify the airport (ILSs, runways, etc) with Afcad, which always compiles perfectly, then use my tool to add the necessary waypoints. You may find the tool in the library, http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID...util&DLID=75659If you have to edit a waypoint, instead of adding a new one, you will have to revert to decompiling the xmls (or wait for version 0.1.2 of my tool, as you can see the menu already has the option).Alberto

The link seems to be broken. It takes me to a library page but there's nothing to down load :(

Also,Will the tool allow me to set in approaches?Any other way to go about it?//Michael

>The link seems to be broken. It takes me to a library page>but there's nothing to down load :(That's because I've uploaded a new version (bug fix), here's the new link (should work for all future releases):http://library.avsim.net/search.php?Search...itor&CatID=rootha5mvo, what exactly do you mean by "set in approaches"? My program will allow you to insert new fixes, then you can put them in the correct sequence using the flight planner, effectively allowing the autopilot to fly an approach for you.Have funAlberto
