FS9 closing down on TU-154

Featured Replies

Good morning everybody,I finally ventured into the world of this great aircraft. Unfortunatly when selecting the Tu in the aircraft menu, Fs9 starts chewing up my HD and closes down after a minute or so.I have installed version 9, 9.3 and 9.3.2 but I also replaced the default fsuipc version with the latest one (3.4).Anybody a suggestion?thanks Luc 'Glaudrung' BrusselmansBelgium

Michael,Thanks for the reply but your suggestion doesn't get me flying either.I have the dll in the modules folder and the entry in the cfg file.I reinstalled the aircraft but still the same result. When loading the aircraft, fs9 starts working my harddisk but after a minute or so, I only get the 'classic' error of 'we have to close down....'anybody?any suggestions?Luc 'Glaudrung' BrusselmansBelgium

Luc,hmmm, that's weird, never heard about such a problem. I also use FSUIPC 3.4, but have not yet updated to FS 9.1. But I know about several users that have updated to 9.1/3.4 already and have also no problems.Do you have a registered FSUIPC or do you register the single gauge in the Tu-154 ?However, I'll install 9.1 this evening and let you know if I can reproduce it.Michael

Michael,I have both 9.1 and 3.4 installed (and 3.4 from uipc is a bought and thus registered version)Since this morning I have tried to disable 'render to texture' but that didn't cure the problem either. My one concern is that I can't read Russian and so I cnnot make a lot of the readme files that are included with the install. The plane doesn't install consitently either on my PC.Last night I installed everything and I found the load editor alright (as in the English manual). This morning I tried to reinstall but I couldnt find the load editor altough there was a desktop shortcut. So probably, it is my system that's acting strange but the funny thing is that it's only ith this aircraft.By the way, maybe, just maybe it's all in vain anyway.I have read the English manual last night and I think I will have some trouble with the joystick configuration too.I'm using the AETI-yoke through the PFC-throttle quadrant (which is connected through the serial port of the PC) and I'm not sure that will work with the routines you have written. In fact, I was going to try that this morning when I couldn't get the plane to load.Anyway, thanks for the effort though.Luc 'Glaudrung' BrusselmansBelgium

This may or may not be related: The installer for the TU154 (base package) replaced my FSUIPC.DLL in the modules folder after prompting me with a message "readonly files encountered - do you want to overwrite?", and that caused FS to blow up on startup. Replaced the DLL with the correct one and was up and running.

Thanks Etienne, but no succes on this side of the ocean.I don't seem to be able to select the TU without crashing Fs9.All suggestions are more than welcome because I'm running out of ideas (fast).Luc 'Glaudrung' BrusselmansBelgium

Michael,I have some error files if you're intrested. Those files are the ones that would be send to MS when Flightsim is closing down. If you want I can send them to you by mail.Just let me now. Thanks for the effortLuc 'Glaudrung' BrusselmansBelgium

Luc,I have made a new installation yesterday. FS2004, then FSUIPC 3.4 registered, then 9.1 patch, then Tu-154 installation and all is working well.I don't really have an idea what could cause the problem. Are you using the fssound.dll version from the Tu-154 package ? However, I'll contact you by mail and will forward your error messages to the team.Regarding the PFC throttles : The Tu-154 gets it's joystick values from Windows, so as long as your equipment appears in control panel / game controller, there shouldn't be a problem. But I don't know if that's that case, if the PFC throttle is handled by the serial port ?Michael

Hi LucI found this post from 'BigJim' in the Flight Simulator General Discussion Forum:'I was getting a system hang when loading the 154 but removing gauge05=154_B2_CP2!Copilot, 36,317,13,12from the panel config got the system loaded.'It cured the problem I was getting. Please find full thread here:http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...13612&mode=fullGood luck!Mike

Hello everybody,I have been on a short break the last few days and didn't have the chance to monitor this thread. Thanks everybody for all the suggestions.it is unfortunate but the one big step forward in this plane is also making it useless to me.I'm using a pfc throttlequadrant and AETI-flightyoke. I have to use them together because I also use CH-prod. ProPedals (which are usb). This TU uses the windows-inputs and not the inputs of fs9 to control any controldevice and so in bypasses the serialport input of the throttlequadrant. It's a pity but since I'm rather fond of this setup, I decided to uninstall this freeware TU (which would be of no use) and reinstalled the payware version. If there is anybody who can make my throttle work with this aircraft... ??? you're more than welcome. Thanks everybodyLuc 'Glaudrung' BrusselmansBelgium

Luc,that would mean the Tu-154 routines would have to "grab" the thtrottle input via serial port before it gets send to FS. I can imagine you are very fond of your setup. I can ask in the team, but I have no much hope this would be an easy task.I also love the PFC stuff, I have a Jetliner Yoke. But I found their throttles with the serial port technology a bit outdated, since USB is now available since quite some tiem.Michael
