January 28, 200323 yr I recently loaded some aircraft from the Virtual US Army Website. Now when I load any other aircraft, to include the downloaded aircraft I can no longer use the default FS2002 GPS. It shows all black. I was getting an error message about 3rd party software, and changed the FS2002.cfg Old Modules section to rectify this. I looked on all three cd's for the gauge and nothing has helped. Is there something I need to do to the FS2002.cfg to again utilize this gauge. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
January 28, 200323 yr It seems this error can be caused by a deletion or replacement of the specific gauge file that powers the GPS system. That would be gps.gau. Even if this gauge still exists, it is possible it was replaced with an older version. It is obvious you had some older software installed based on the error message. Some panels/aircraft replace the default GPS with something very similar, better suited to fit that aircraft/panel. Unfortunately, these replacements are not always compatible with the FS2002. My advice is to first replace the gauge. If you would like, Email me at [email protected] and I will gladly send you a replacement copy of the gps.gau from FS2002. If that doesn't work, you may have to do a complete clean uninstall and re-installation of the software. But for now I would just try the replacement.Regards,Marc
January 28, 200323 yr Author One of the addons has overlayed the GPS gauge (the old gauge has the same name as the new one). You can reinstall it from CD#1. The file name is gps.gau and you'll find it in FS2002.CABDoug Intel 10700K @ 5.1Ghz, Asus Hero Maximus motherboard, Noctua NH-U12A cooler, Corsair Vengeance Pro 32GB 3200 MHz RAM, RTX 2060 Super GPU, Cooler Master HAF 932 Tower, Thermaltake 1000W Toughpower PSU, Windows 10 Professional 64-Bit, 100TB of disk storage.
