RTWR 2006 Aircraft Updates

Featured Replies

Hi all,Just a note about some updates to older aircraft. These updates will be eligible for the 2006 Round the World Race. The Rules state that eligible aircraft must be released and widely available two weeks before the race. However, the Rules were released only 13 days before the race and so builders might reasonably have been working on last year's one week time frame. The updates are:FDG2 (Sim Outhouse Donationware) Corsair F4U-4.: 3D model update and flight model updateAeroplane Heaven Corsair F4U-5: Flight model updateAeroplane Heaven Spitfires series: Proper conversion of Imperial Gallons to US GallonsFor these updates, go the following thread on the Sim Outhouse Forum:http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/showthread.php?t=13399 . Some assembly will be required.Gnoopey (Tom Kohler) P-47M: Slight flight model update and 3D model updates. This P-47M update should be available at all the usual sites: SOH, AVSIM, FlightSim, Simviation. The FDG2 F4U-4, the AH Spitfire, and the Kohler P-47M updates have been examined and judged "suitable for the 2006 RTWR". The AH Corsair has not been examined.Best,Mike MacKuenfor the RTWR Executive and Advisory Committees

Hey, everyone,Just wondering if there is a complete list of "race-approved" aircraft out there. I've got the basics covered, I think, but am just looking to see if there might be something I don't yet have in the hanger that might be worth a look-see.Thanks in advance,CB

No, there are far too many.General rule:Any model designed for FS2002 or FS2004 (mind, CFS and FS2000 models which were allowed in the past no longer are!) that is a prop or single or twin turboprop is allowed, as long as it exists in the real world and at least 25 were produced.Only further restriction is that the model must have been released no later than 2 weeks before the start of the race (so on or before 06 February 2006).
