What is the Flight Sim Round-The-World Race?

Featured Replies

"The Microsoft Flight Simulator Around-the-World Race is an annual event conducted between the top flight simulation websites. Enthusiasts from each site gather online to fly their team's virtual baton around the world as fast as possible."The race is a virtual relay race in Microsoft Flight Simulator around the world. Legs can be no longer than 700nm or 2 hours in length, except as designated by the race committee (Air Bridges and Ocean corridors.) There are routing requirements to be met such as landing on 6 continents, and time bonuses rewarding for landing at certain airports. Routing and bonus information are release about 24 hours prior in a special race NOTAM.You only need Microsoft Flight Sim 9 or X and the Duenna tracking program to participate on one of the three teams. The race is flown in real weather and real time with all realism sliders maxed out. Legs can be flown off line, but a large part of the race appeal is flying online with your team. Race progress and baton handoffs are made through posts in the forums.More info can be obtained here: http://www.fsrtwrace.com/about.htm and by reading the previous years race posts. It is a team effort and a lot of fun.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/194432.gif
