Ultimate traffic and voxatc?

Featured Replies

I also use UT and was disappointed that there is no interaction with the AI. I have found that on my P4 2.8 (overclocked to 3.0Ghz)I still get 28 FPS with my AI traffic turned on at 25%. Then I leave the sound on for the FS9 ATC but turn it real low so it's just background chatter. Very cool and I get interaction with the AI that I can see and hear while still getting VoxATC as my main "focus". Also, with the traffic set at 25% I don't really run in to any conflicts with what the FS9 ATC is doing and what VoxATC is doing.Give it a try - works great on my machine.

Hi thanks for the positive remark but i'm really curious to why only 25%. I'm currently using 100% and can't see myself flying in less traffic. Is it because of fps or because of voxatc??

To tell the truth, I have not tried it with higher than 25% traffic. I can say that I rarely ever flew (before VoxATC) with more than 80% because it would start to impact my frame rates around airports quite significantly. I am running a full fledged simulator with lots of stuff running - goflight, widefs, fsuipc, Leo's keyboard emulator for the 0X64B, PM Sounds, Simkits drivers, the drivers for my engine stack (Flight Illusion), yoke, rudders and throttle... starts to add up in threads. I have FS limited at 30FPS to allow other stuff to work or else I get delays in switch actions, etc. I am getting 28/30 at 25% ATC and all this other stuff. I'll experiment a little to see how high I can go and not start getting an impact on specch recognition or frame rates. Will advise.

OK - I have been flying with UT at 10% and still hitting 28 - 30 FPS except on the ground or near a really busy airport. Even then getting around 15, which I consider the minimum acceptable. Good stuff.

Sorry guys - that's a typo - I meant 100%...I have cranked it down some just to alleviate some of the congestion at major airports, but on a 2.8P4 overclocked to 3.0Ghz and a gig of RAM I can hit these frame rates consistently.>OK - I have been flying with UT at 10% and still hitting 28 ->30 FPS except on the ground or near a really busy airport. >Even then getting around 15, which I consider the minimum>acceptable. Good stuff.
