What happened to all the posts in this forum previous to May? There was some good stuff in there for troubleshooting, etc.Just curious...

Hi Mitch,They are still here but you might have to use the search function to bring them up. Avsim forums by default display the past 30 days of activity. Since the "Unofficial VoxATC Support Forum" has a small following and not too many postings one month fits on less than a full page. You will notice that the "MS Flight Simulator General Discussion Forum" which is the busiest of the forums also only displays postings for the past 30 days, but they take up 31 pages! You can go into the "Profiles" menu and by selecting "Edit your preference" you can change the "Date limit" to three months, siz (sp?) months, or one year.Zane

Zane,Well I suppose that's fine if it was posted in each forum so everyone would know, but it's news to me. Personally I don't like it - if you have space constraints on your servers or something, what is the difference if you display or archive the last three months or so of data? I could see restricting displaying threads based on the size of the forum (last 100 messages dispayed or something), but restricting by 30 days reagrdless of traffic in the forum makes it hard to get a feel for the continuity of a conversation in the smaller forums.From my perspective (Service Management) I don't see a justification from a business perspective, It just makes things more difficult from an end-user perspective with no useful return for the business. Can you advise what is the business requiremet driving this policy? (Sorry - this is what I do for a living!)

Hi Mitch,Actually I have absolutely nothing to do with this part of AVSIM. I happen to be active with the VOXATC forum because of my enthusiasm for the program and no-one else was doing it. You could address the moderators or someone higher up with this issue and see if it is something they would like to change.Regards,Zane
