An historical footnote in re The Italian Flying Boat

you probably saw the posting on the avsim front page about this new freeware and the reference to Air Marshall Italo Balbo. When the boat was flown across the atlantic in 1933, Marshall Balbo came to Chicago. His visit was commemorated with a memorial column which still stands in Grant Park along the Lakefront at Michigan Avenue and Balbo Drive, also named in his honor... So, the next time you take off from Meigs, swing a little to the Northwest and give the area a flyoversherm
