  1. little nav map has an excellent flight planner, you can create your own point by point or let LNM do it for you. As I recall, you can also adjust route points by clicking and dragging Sherm
  2. thanks for the heads up....I may go back to using it, but since things are looking good now and I don't plan major scenery changes, I probably will just let this sleeping dog lie... Sherm
  3. I stopped using this months ago because it seemed incompatible with ORBX scenery layering. I am sure many of you still use both. What do you do to make them more compatible" Thanks Sherm
  4. UTL2 is no longer supported by flight 1 sherm
  5. I have always loaded my preferred scenario without issues. But I will try the default start and then switch to my usual scenario. I know that “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it “ but this is worth a try based on what most of you are doing sherm
  6. Christopher and others reading this thread… Malwarebytes has a free ad blocker. https://www.malwarebytes.com/browserguard I don’t know whether it works on all platforms. It does work on my Windows PC. I’m not sure if it works on the iPad. I haven’t tried that or on android or other platforms. Search around and see what might or will work for you. And you are correct as others have noted. It’s become a real pain to have to wade through all the adverts that pop up and waste our time. sherm
  7. I have had this problem as have many of us. To be honest, I have not been flying for the last few months, and while the haze problem was solved for me, I don’t remember how I did it. but, a couple of suggestions go to the forum at Prepar3d.com and ask or look for a solution. you also could create at ticket at Active Sky…their developer is very responsive. good luck. sherm
  8. Thank you td, yes the loss has been unbearable, but I have built a relationship with another Woman through a mutual friend who introduced us. My family, friends and therapist all tell me that I need to do what I want to regain a sense of happiness and overcome the loneliness. I am fortunate that they all understand.. thanks for your kind thoughts …and I am sorry that my first post kind of took over this thread… sherm
  9. Thanks Ray i appreciate your thoughts and sympathy sherm
  10. Hi Ray, I think you have me confused with the OP. I lost my wife six months ago to pancreatic cancer. my life is slowly adjusting to its new phase with support from therapy, family and friends. And, though I am adjusting, she will always be at the center of my heart and soul sherm
  11. As I began reading JonPO1 post, that got me thinking about Carenado, as I read further I saw that he was thinking the same thing. I have the Cessna 185 which is a very managable and user friendly beginner's plane. It’s a plane to fly for fun, nothing like a study aircraft sherm
  12. But, difficult to fly without extensice training. IMO, not for a beginner.. Sherm
  13. I agree with CAP1234 I have the C182 which feels more realistic than any other sim aircraft I have used. I do not have a PPL, but I do have 20 hours + in the Cessna 152, their basic trainer. The 182 is of course a more powerful Cessna, but the handling capabilities remind me of my experience with the 152 as a student pilot. Sherm
  14. Thank you I appreciate all of the help from you and the others. To be Frank trimming lately since my wife died in July, but I am slowly may be very slowly getting back to my old self as I work through the loss. The flight in community is a support system I know I can count on. Sherm
  15. Thanks to everyone for all the good suggestions and comments. it does appear as if AIG is the alternative that is Dan and others pointed out. That is exactly the one I was thinking about. I do remember trying out in the past without much success. I’ll be a little more patient this time, study the manual more carefully and I’ll let you know how this works out when I finally get around to doing it. Again, thanks. I appreciate all of the support. Sherm
  16. This seems to be only for MSFS so that does not apply to P3 D. Thanks anyway.
  17. Too difficult for my 84 year old brain…probably would have been the same when I was 24 sherm
  18. My Ultimate Traffic 2 has outlived its service life and is no longer supported. so, I am looking for an alternate. I know there is one (name escapes me) which I tried a few years ago. But there are too many hoops to jump through. I want something simple, but accurate and complete. Does such a product exist for P3D 5.4 thanks sherm
  19. I look for fluffy cumulus…there are several choices…find the one that meets your taste. There is also an overall setting. I use dynamic which mimics live weather from Active Sky and creates the textures based on real time. sherm
  20. There is an easy fix to alter clouds under Options. I remember the exact setting and I’m not iat my computer so I can’t take a look for you but scout around. The other option is to purchase the add-on active sky cloud art,, which works perfectly with active sky. It’s a very good program offering a lot of options. https://hifisimtech.com/asca/ Good luck and when you get things set up, show us some pictures Shrrm
  21. what did you read and where to suggest that? I'm not meaning to be snarky, but with so many rumors I and I suppose the rest of the community is interested in facts, and their source. Thanks Sherm
  22. I agree. As I said in my initial post, everything in this preview is geared to the military. Maybe there will be a consumer version of something, but so far, I am seeing nothing to suggest that. I hope I am wrong. Sherm
  23. That still says nothing to imply a V7 is in the works sherm
