About Me

  1. You can only name ONE. That one addon you could not do without. GA or Airliner, Warbird or Fighter. Mine is the RealAir Lancair Legacy v2. I flew the v1 in FSX and it took me on several round the world trips. Then I got v2 just as RealAir stopped trading. Didn't sim for several years due to illness. Got me a new PC 2024, got MSFS. Had some fun with it. Much missing though. Got FSX working again. Got this plane flying but oh boy those scenery tiles wouldn't play ball. Good for night trips though. August 2024 got fed up and splashed out on P3dv5 pro. Installed a few great planes (but I can only name ONE here remember?). Today I spent an hour in MSFS flying the A2A bird around Wales. Or at least the box said 'flying'. It felt like a paper airplane. As paper airplanes go though, the best for sure. Booted up P3d somewhat depressed and loaded up My favourite addon of all time. Yeh the scenery was half jaw dropping and half cringe, but....oh my the FLYING. THIS plane..... Now it's YOUR turn. ONLY one remember? :D https://imgur.com/gallery/realair-lancair-legacy-p3dv5-orbx-nzmf-kh2Hgun
  2. Flying multiplayer with friend. I am flying PMDG737 and friend flying same aircraft PMDG737. We both are using this aircraft and when we were at the airport, he saw my 737 but his aircraft was showing up as a low wing single engine aircraft. Also lately when I pick a parking spot in the world screen and fly now I end up on top of another aircraft already parked there. And when I go to outside view and look at the other gates, thy all have double aircraft showing. Crazy Huh? any ideas what is going on. I appreciate all your help. Walt
  3. Hello, Dudes! How to Adjust fuel in B747-400 using FSX? Suppose I fly a long route like from Lahore to London Heathrow. So how can I calculate that how much right fuel should I adjust before take off? Otherwise, you know that over fuelling cause the plane's nose too high while landing. Best Regards, AP,
  4. -=-=- Air Force One Escort -=-=- Friday 7, 2013 Air Force One Escort Jet Hop. With Interference at Unknown Time. AF1 Intercept/Escort flight on Friday June 7th at 7:00pm EST. I'm stumped

First off I would like to say thankyou so very much to all of you that have posted on this forum and others, you have helped me incalculably over the last couple of years to get my fsx running beyond my expectations. unfortunately I don't have the expertise to be able to add any fresh advice to this knowledge base, but i am here because I have an issue i cannot understand and cannot find posted anywhere. Anyway it had been a while since i'd done any tweaking but now I've just done a fresh windows install and FSX is driving me nuts. The issue is that my aircraft are displaying.loading incorrectly - wheels on top of the fuselage, horizontal stabilizer running through the cockpit - etc etc It was fine before but somewhere along the line (unfortunately I'm to tired to remember exactly when lol) it went beserk. I initially had a feeling it was to do with newer nvidia drivers but now I'm thinking it might be to do with FTX AU. Have already reset default flight in fsx cfg, cfg is optimized, fsx was running, but after installing FTXAU (twice) this problem occurred, which seems weird to me because I would assume that FTXAU doesn't edit simobjects files? Here is my specs: ASRock G41M-S3 - has DPC Latency issues with high autogen resulting in audio crackle, any advice?) Q6600 G0 @ 2.7GHz - I know, i got real unlucky, it won't go any higher on stock vcore, isn't stable at 3GHz with 1.4vcore 8GB DDR3 GEIL Enhance 9-9-9-24 ASUS GTX660 OC 2GB OCZ Vertex 4 WD Raptor Win 7 Ultimate x64 SP1 And a screenshot: Anyway if any of you have come across this or have any ideas as to what it could be it would be much appreciated. Thanks.
  6. :( Hi my name is andrew, i have a some problems with the lights on my aircrafts. On the ground the lights are in position and ok, strobe, landing, position...... When takeoff around 2000 or 3000 feets the lighs disappear, Im using the dx10 on fsx, and i install al the patches or I tried all possible solutions, fixes of dx10 have any idea or solution?? Thanks!!!
  7. I got FSX several months ago but due lack of time and out of money, I cannot continue to play and "invest money" into it. Now I've just bought a new SSD to install my win7 into it and put the 250GB totally for FS9 and FSX. I have only installed Fs9 first and then FSX. Adding addons into Fs9. I currently have no addons for FSX. Since I don't know where to start with. Searching Word Not Allowed and Nick's guide for FSX tweak. Hope it helps. In Fs9, I installed FSGlobal2010 first, and then Ultimate Terrain for USA and Europe ( I fly mainly in USA). How about in FSX, which scenery addons should I install for start ? Mainly USA. Thanks all! Ah,BTW, if I'm correct my FSGlobal2010 also can install for FSX. So does FSX need it? Or are there any better one for mesh?

  9. Ok, So I live about 20 minutes away from KHPN (Westchester County Airport) and have been there many times to go flying with Peter Levine in his Piper, anyway I decided last week it would be cool to go spotting there and get some shots of the Embrears, Airbuses, CRJ's as well as all the GA traffic coming in and out of the airport. last Monday I called the Airport and talked to a very nice person who said I could come and spot from the Observation deck in the main terminal, I also called the local Flight School and FBO (also where Peter Levine keeps his plane) to see if I could walk around that part of the airport to take pics and watch the aircraft departing and taxiing. Both People (At the Main airport and FBO) told me that It was fine for me to do that the only condition was that I check in at both places before spotting. Ok thats fine. Today I went to go spotting and I got there, with the name of the people I spoke to and a reason for wanting to spot and I checked in at Panorama Flight School and told them who I talked to and what I wanted to do. I was told that I would not be allowed to do this, and I would be arrested and that I would have to leave. Huh???? I was told It was fine. Anyway, so I went to the main terminal after that and I talked to the same person I had talked to on Monday and I got the same answer that I had gotten from the guy at Panorama. So just like that my whole day was ruined and I had no chance of spotting. So, my question is, when people go spotting at major airports and they make videos and take pictures where do they go, and how do they not get arrested? If I cannot go at my tiny regional airport then how in the world do people go spot at places like JFK or IAD or EWR or LGA? I would really like to go to JFK to spot, as well as to my airport HPN which is 20 minutes away!
  10. Hello, I Have a small question about AI aircraft: Is it possible to remove the limit of distance around airports that AI aircraft can travel before disappearing? Thank you for your help.
  11. This needs the GPWS warning system for the planes including the 'woop woop, pull up' sound. ALSO I beg for you guys to light up the cockpit in planes at nightime because it is too dark
  12. Hi fellows, We all know how beautiful are PMDG aircrafts for FSX, I think every one of us wanted to fly ALL of their models, my great experience began with jetstream, then DC, then 737 then 747 I cant wait to try 777 but I got the feeling that an aircraft is missing in this great and perfect family, A 727-200!!!! it is a claasic on aviation all around the world, don't you think PMDG should surprise us and develope it for us? imagine the most classic airplane model on the hands of the best developer!!! and we to flight it, so please help me on this quest so PMDG CAN HEAR OUR VOICE GIVE US THE CLASSIC PLEASE!!!! please reply and togueter we can!!!
  13. Hello Bryan/Guys, I'm having a weird problem. Every time a load the MD11 whether from the Main Screen or already on the ramp, FSX crash throwing an error quite unique cause where should say the name of the module causing problems it says unknown. I detected FS2Crew might be the problem becasue if a restore the PMDG panels from the FS2Crew program, the MD11 load just fine. Let me tell you that recently did a full re-install of SO and FSX and been flying other PMDG with FS2crew without a problem, the only difference that they are al Voice edition. Do you know what could be causing troubles with FS2Crew? Thanks
  14. This may have been covered before but for years I have noticed at various times that when I park an aircraft like the default King Air then press the shift + E key to open the passenger door it opens then closes right away. This is something that seems to come and go and has been going on in FSX for years now. Does anyone have a clue what causes this and a fix? Thanks, Norm Flowers member of SimFlite.com, the largest flight simulation group in Southern California.
  15. I just thought I'd throw this out there to people who develop complex aircraft for FSX (and other platforms, I guess). A lot of people have external devices to control stuff. Lights, flaps, deicing, prop controls, autopilots. They use a button or a switch to control stuff you create on an airplane. As RealAir points out in at least one of their manuals, most accidents happen when the airplane is 'low and slow' and you don't want to mess around with a VC or bringing up a panel to do something critical so you program it into a button or a switch. So you program it into a button so you can keep from getting disoriented, even momentarily. So I progam my controls to keep my looking at my instruments or outside. After spending many hours trying to program my panel for a few buttons, I have realized that some things just can't be safely done due to the APIs provided. Here's my thoughts: Some things aren't modeled at all even though they are critical. Engine icing is an example. Flying along at 1500 feet in the soup, I have to turn my 'head' and physically click the button. There's, apparently, no API for this particular aircraft. Toggles. Critical things that are 'toggle' commands can be dangerous. If the effect of the switch can't be seen without turning your head (landing light toggles) then the toggle event may do the opposite. In small aircraft this is often simple because the switch is in front of the pilot...landing light...carb heat. In big aircraft, it's actually bad. You click the button you created on your control but you don't know if you turned it off or on. Thing is, turning your head (or glancing up) in a simulator is a lot more complex than in real life and, even though it's simpler in real life, that's what tends to kill a lot of pilots. So, if it's critical, create an API. Create an on and an off (and, sometimes, a toggle) if it's not visible to a pilot looking forward, don't make it a toggle. If you have to make it a toggle, flash a message on the screen..."engine ice on" "landing light on". It's more realistic since a pilot who flips a switch can feel it on their fingers. Just my two cents. I don't know how many folks have hardware with switches, maybe it's a lot, maybe not. It's at least something to consider when building a complex aircraft. Just one more blasted thing to think about.
  16. So I came across this forum this morning while browsing some video game dogfight videos. Im a big enthusiast of piloting video games and I watched a couple clips of the Microsoft Flight simulator and I liked it but without some type of air combat, flight seems too plain to me. Maybe Ive played 'dog fights' so long that Im used to it. I understand that a lot of people play the flight simulators for just that, flight simulation. But I know there has to be gamers on this forum that like air combat. Well if your one of them and havent tried one of the following games, you should. My very favorite would have to be, and before you brush me away, hear me out: GTA 4. Theres two versions, GTA 4 Original and GTA 4 TBOGT, each offers its own kind of helicopter/s with their own ability. The flying mechanics still amaze me considering it was made over 5 years ago. The dogfights are nuts on this game because this is one of the few dogfight games, IMO, where skill means everything. Ive seen top guys, me being one of them, take on whole squads of mid level pilots on their own. And if it gets too much, why give them the satisfaction? Hop out and parachute into the city and let them try to come get you. Very realistic and one that I like very much is Battlefield 3. You have to fight your way to the aircraft but if youve put in the time to learn it, it is a delight when you disappear into the clouds and come down like a speeding bullet, taking out a couple of soldiers and a tank, and then disappearing back into the clouds. Even if youre about to blow up you can parachute down, and still use your RPGs or tracking missiles(if you have them) while your parachuting down. I usually just parachute right onto a vacant tank, park it in a good location and switch to gunner view. Which is like having an automatic mid range sniper rifle...while your proteted by the armor of the tank:). Halo reach, is aliens and monsters, probably not the kind of taste some of you have but it can be a lot of fun if you learn to circle in the helicopter and pick up 2 good shooters. Theres also a plane type aircraft called the banshee which can be very lethal and a game-changer. The bad thing is that the body isnt particularly strong and good players focus fire on the banshees until theyre taken down so you need to communicate with ground support. Im not home at the moment but on my pc I do have some very good footage bookmarked, and when I get home, I'll post some videos if anyone is interested.
  17. Hey, I want to know if there is a safe way to store aircraft outside of flght simulator x without deleting it entirely or doing something that may cause my computer to crash. Recently, I was told by a computer professional that deleting aircraft from flight simulator x is not a good idea; I was told that my system is fragile and many of the addons I download may rely on my computer's ability to function properly. But that's only one side of the problem. The other side is I currently have over 500 planes installed on flight simultaor x that I use infrequently or not at all. Is there a way that I can put them in temporary storage without doing anything that could crash my system? (Please note: I currently have this folder on my desktop marked: temporary aircraft storage, in which I store unused fsx aircraft. I simply drag any aircraft I'm not using into that folder, and since I've been doing it for years and it hasn't caused any problems, I can only assume it's safe to do it that way, but that's only my opinion, and I prefer not to take chances.) I would appreciate any advice that can be given. Regards, Evan

  19. Hello, As much as I truly enjoy using VoxATC, I continue having an issue with getting extra liveries to work. The indexer picks up the aircraft types, but the Aircraft Type Name Editor only picks up the first livery in each aircraft.cfg file, which translates to me not being able to get VoxATC to initialize in anything but that one version of each plane. I have several aircraft that come with tens of liveries, so it's frustrating being confined to using this great product with only one. Has anybody else experienced this and fixed it? Any help would be appreciated!

  21. Hi everyone, Have you ever made requests towards developers about your favourite aircraft? If yes, you might know that they're also just people like you, and they want their fav airplane to be in the simulator first. However, I'm now asking you, guys! I'm interested about the "most wanted" aircrafts around in the FS market. I made a bunch of surveys, you just have to answer them. The first survey is out, which in you can choose the aircraft types that you are interested about. This is just the "first round", the next survey will cover more in depth categories to choose from (manufacturer, aircraft model...). So, please take a moment to fill the survey. It's a big help for developers http://goo.gl/Brn4b3 Thank you for reading through, best regards, SkinnR11
  22. Hello, Guys! Please see in given picture. Where Aircraft will fly as compared to Wind direction?
  23. I've noticed that the FSX AI system is completely unable to push back from gates or parking spots. Instead, the planes just turn around in place and taxi out - and it looks very, very stupid and unrealistic. Are there any addons that fix this annoying behaviour? Running FSX SP2 w/ Acceleration. Also, sorry if this is in the wrong place. Feel free to move. ~CK
  24. I'm the type of guy who will purchase any FSX aircraft that has had the least little bit of positive hype before its release, or good to great reviews after its release. As a result, I have quite a few aircraft that are in my hangar. Unfortunately some have been flown very little or not at all. I like them all. Tubeliners, turboprops, twins, singles, GA, IFR, I really enjoy them all. I am very happy with the performance of my computer running FSX, and have many, many sceneries to fly to and from. My problem is, I can't decide which one to fly on any given day. I know I need to dive in to some of these aircraft, and learn the basic procedures and see how it performs. But I am very comfortable with a dozen or so aircraft, and know it's easy to jump in the plane, start it up and take off quickly. These two feelings keep tugging at me every time I fire up FSX. Sometimes, I just scroll through the list, over and over, and can't make up my mind. Am I the only one who has this problem? Here are the aircraft I own: A2A Simulations: B-17 Flying Fortress, J-3 Cub, P-51 Mustang (Military & Civilian), Cessna C-172, Spitfire Aerosoft: Twin Otter Bay Tower Studios: Van's RV-7 Carenado: Bonanza F-33A, Cessna CT182T, Cessna CT210M Centurion Coolsky: DC-9 Eagle Dynamics: A-10 Warthog (DCS) Flight1: Cessna Citation X v2, Cessna Citation Mustang, Beech King Air B200 Just Flight: BAE 146, L-1011 Tristar Lionheart Creations: Piper Super Pacer Majestic: Dash 8 Q-400 MilViz: F-15 Strike Eagle, F-86 Sabre, Beech Baron B55, Cessna C310R, Boeing 737-200 Combi, ORBX: Lancair PMDG: Boeing 747, 737NGX , 777, JS4100, MD-11 Quality Wings: Bae 146 Collection RealAir Simulations: Beech B-60, Turbine Duke, Lancair Legacy The aircraft highlighted in blue are the aircraft I fly often and am comfortable with. I am really wanting to try something new, delve into the systems and procedures, but I simply cannot make up my mind. I hereby declare I will not purchase any more aircraft until I have flown all these aircraft sufficiently to form an opinion. That is unless the PMDG 747v2 comes out. Or maybe a surprise airplane I don't know about. You see my dilemma. I really wanted to try the Airbus Extended, but I think my head would explode transitioning from Boeing to Airbus and back. I have always intended to buy A2A Captain of the Ship, just haven't gotten around to it. I'm currently flying over the Atlantic on the 777, headed to the UK. Please help me make a decision. Recommendations? Something that is not on the list? (Heaven help me!)
  25. MY SHARED AIRCRAFT ON FSX DOESNT WORK WITH THE NGX, CAN ANYONE HELP?
