  1. Good evening, I am back to FBW A32NX. Trying to complile flows so that my first officer will follow the FBW provided SOP. My question is about the interior lighting setup. The SOP calls for him to set lighting but I wonder to what extend he can help here. [I wanted to paste a snip of the section from the SOP here but don't know how to do that] These are the things I have tested: Right Instrument Panel but none of these are recognized by MCE. Does MCE suport this panel at all? increase first officer n d brightness decrease first officer n d brightness increase first officer weather and terrain brightness decrease first officer weather and terrain brightness push the first officer p f d n d transfer button increase first officer p f d brightness decrease first officer p f d brightness set first officer console and floor lighting to dim set first officer console and floor lighting to bright set first officer console and floor lighting to off I have also tested the Dome light: dome light dim Saying he does but nothing happens dome light bright Command not accepted by MCE dome light off Turns off the light but does not move the switch The A32NX was the plane that was loaded first when the sim was started and I have started MCE after the plane was fully loaded. All LVARS and HVARS were accounted for. Hope you can help.
  2. Hi, I have problem with my dome lighting in PMDG 737 NG cockpit in FSX. If I click on dome light button in a cockpit nothing happens. The dome lights works me only if the engines are on. Does anybody of you have some idea what can it cause or where is the problem? Thank you for all your replies and all your advises.
  3. Hi everyone! I have been a fan of FSX for quite some time and i recently decided to give P3D V3 a go. So far so good, everything looks much better than in FSX and it even runs much faster. I do have a problem tho, I am not sure if I am really getting the entire eye-candy that I should get, because I do see videos on youtube of people who managed to make the entire sim look almost perfect. Right now I'm having one particular problem I have seen in other threads for P3D V2 and V2.5, basically, SimObjects are just too dark at night, you almost can't see them, there's just a black silhouette where the aircraft or simobject is supposed to be. Allow me to illustrate. Notice also how the concrete is a light yellow color, this, as far as I know, is not normal at all. I would also like to point out that I have installed REX4, ORBX Vector and the airports you see are FSDreamTeam KIAH and Airsoft London Heathrow respectively. The concrete being yellow might be a problem not with the simulator itself, but with the airport. I have all settings turned up to max and quite a beast of a computer. I have also messed with the Prepar3D.cfg file to turn up the exposure and tweak the HDR, but the only thing it does is make everything bright, including the sky and the airport itself. In short, I'd like to make my sim look like this at night: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cTzfAOWFRLE And like this at day: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fI9lN9pCJr4 (I am aware that SweetFX might be the thing making the video look so realistic). Here are some photos also of my sim during the day: Thanks! Any help would be appreciated!
  4. So I am playing with the 700 series add-on for PMDG and I have a couple of questions that are probably answered somewhere in the 3000 pages of manual but I want to make sure it is not a bug and see if anyone else has the answer right off the bat rather than searching for hours in a book thicker than the Bible. SEE IMAGE BELOW. CLICK ON TO FULL SCREEN IT. 1. When I turn on the lighting for the cockpit and turn it just past halfway the back panels on the MCP LEDs turn blue. Is this normal ops? It never did this in the 800 series. 2. The TCAS Indicators never went away on the MFDs. The indicators were on during power up, pre-flight check and on into the flight. I use FS2Crew to do the start up sequence and he didn't seem to indicate a problem with the TCAS system but the markings persisted throughout the entire flight making it hard to see my VSI and altitude. 3. When I turned the lighting nobs to turn on the background flood lighting on the MCP and the MFD panels they had no effect on the lighting until AFTER we landed and started the shutdown sequence. Then the lighting turned on. Normal operation in the 800 was for the lights to activate the moment you turned the dial and light up the consoles. 4. I use FS Passengers X and had to go through the whole FS2Crew work around to get the FSPassenger mini window to show.. however... it has ANOTHER panel icon that sits on top of it now and will flicker off and on but mostly it stays on, covering up the damn mini window... -_- Anyone experience these problems (if they are problems on the 700 series PMDG 737) and know a work around? Thanks.
  5. This needs the GPWS warning system for the planes including the 'woop woop, pull up' sound. ALSO I beg for you guys to light up the cockpit in planes at nightime because it is too dark
  6. Good night, I’m having some issues in Prepa3dv2 with the shadowing, they all look really pixelated and trembling. Hope anybody knows a solution Thank you
  7. Hello everybody: Is the NGX going to become an SP2? It's pretty much perfect right now but some night lighting issues are still there and we don't have alternate gear extension. (Still flying afraid of a total hydraulic loss with gear up) Is this going to be made or has PMDG decided not to develop the NGX further more? I also want to ask if the alternate gear extension is possible to be designed in some way. Regards, P. Daniel. P.S.: Don't get me wrong, this is not a reproach, I'm only curious about the future of the NGX. I'm very happy with your work and how the NGX Simulation is right now. ^_^
  8. Hello! I'm using PrecipitFX and 737 immersion, and when i'm flying with volumetric lighting conditions that happens: (IT DOESN'T WORK WITH AS16 ON) http://prnt.sc/cbovxh And I also don't see that effects as on your screenshots on page. http://prnt.sc/cboy62 http://prnt.sc/cboyw0 PS. On ground this effect works. Cheers!
  9. The Microsoft Flight team posted an interview with John Smith. John answers some questions regarding the lighting and terrain features and flight, and we thought we would point you to that interview, if you haven't already seen it. Here's how the Flight team starts out the interview; "John Smith is the Environment Art Lead for Microsoft Flight. He won’t tell us the year he got his Master of Fine arts, but he’s spent a lot of years playing and designing non-computer games before entering the computer game field in the 90s as a concept artist and designer with various startups. After joining ACES Studio, he created the special effects and weather assets for Combat Flight Simulator 3, then helped design the Flight Simulator 9 weather system and art assets. He was the Environment Art lead for FSX, did stints as Studio Environment Lead and Art Director at ACES, and then moved on to the Firebird Studios team to develop Flight. Thanks for taking the time to answer some player questions about the lighting and terrain in Flight! There has been significant progress in the terrain in Flight. Could you describe some of the elements that have changed from FSX? There have been a few major changes and many, many minor changes." You can read the rest of the interview here, and you can participate in our forum discussions about this interview in our forums system here.
  10. The whole airport lighting issue needs to be addressed. The following things are some of the things that they really need to fix: Intensity and look of the rotating airport beacon. It doesn't look real and stands out way too much out in the distance. Runway lights shouldn't remain on at all times, they should be off during the day! The intensity of the lights need to be more realistic, according to most real world pilots, it's usually hard to spot an airport at night, the best way to spot one is to look for an area of darkness. individual light orbs need to be dynamic, the higher resolution you are, the more big and blurrier it gets. Airport lights shouldn't stand out like a sore thumb at night. Flying at high altitudes and being to see all airports around you is very unrealistic.
  11. You probably all know the first one, the street lights in MSFS look like UFOs. For each light, there is a source, but nothing beneath, they are just hanging in the air like magic. I don't blame Asobo for this, I guess they did it to optimize performance. Flying lights The second is more serious: there is a bug in the Garmin information regarding the runway length. It is in FT while it should be in meters. On this screenshot, LFBD runway has a length of 3048m and not 3048ft. Runway Length (sorry for the links, I was unable to insert images from URL)
  12. Foremost, I would like to congratulate PMDG on the release of the 747 QOTSII - it is an absolute delight to fly! The hard work gone into the development of this aircraft is very much appreciated. A small thing I have noticed is regarding the cockpit lighting. Whenever I switch on the 'DOME' light, it only illuminates part of the cockpit. This anomaly can be seen more clearly in the photos that I have uploaded. http://imageshack.com/a/img924/8328/SZMwIL.png http://imageshack.com/a/img924/1219/NTu3lF.png Is anyone else having this issue? Would be grateful if anyone could help me solve this problem. (I am using P3D v3.) Best regards, Quamar Quazi
  13. Hello All I have checked the forum to see if the issue listed below has been covered. I can't find anything about it so here it goes... After taking off from TAPA at 22:30 (so the sky was dark) I noticed that while my cabin lights were set to 90% the pax windows remained dark/black. I then noticed that the windows that used to be see though are now blank, you can't see though them into the cabin and they remain dark no matter what I do (so they remain black with lights on 100% or on automatic (100% or 75%). I am using the PMDG British Airways repaint (G-STBB). This is the only aircraft I fly on FSX so I can 100% confirm they were working before PMDG's latest update. I have checked everything was set correctly and it was. My settings have not changed so the aircraft that worked perfectly (windows see through and you could see light through them at night) are now blank/black/never lit up... I run windows FSX, my operating system is Windows Vista and my graphics card is a GTX 680 (which I have had for a few years now). As I am in the middle of a flight I can't take a screen photo of them problem but I will ensure one is posted once I land later today... Thanks for any help Kind Regards Kimberly RJones.
  14. Hi there, I am really excited to hear PTA V2 is available now! Right now I am struggling on light settings during the night. In P3D V3, the night is too bright even for a new moon night. I really want to know if PTA V2 can fix or tweak something like this. Is there any night lighting tweak, I think X-plane 10 has a fair realistic night though. Can we achieve an ideal night lighting similar to, as seen in Xplane 10 via PTA V2? I guess many people want to know the answer like I do. I really wish the developers and the users of PTA can help me with it. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated. Warm Regards, Gordon.

  16. While I'm only a desktop pilot myself, spoken to a few pilots and have gathered the QF lighting procedures, if possible could these be added to the next update (SOP 1)? Before Taxi: Taxi light - ON Wing light - ON Runway Turnoff - ON After Takeoff: (I believe this part already happens) Taxi Lights - OFF Turnoff lights - OFF Retractable Landing Lights - OFF Passing 10000 Wing - OFF Logo - OFF Landing Lights - OFF Passing 10000 decent Fixed Landing - ON Runway Turnoff - ON Taxi- ON Logo - ON Wing - ON Turning into Gate Wing - OFF Taxi - OFF Runway Turnoff - OFF Also if it's possible on the ground, nav lights are only used at night. I'm not quite sure what flows should be but during a missed approach it doesn't make sense to turn off lights if you're returning to the same airport. (Maybe Approach Brief Option - Missed Approach: Diversion or Another Attempt or similar) One last thing, I understand that this would be harder to implement due to voice files but is there any chance of getting the Fuel check during the before start checklist like in the original NGX FS2Crew. Thanks Brendan
  17. Hallo, Anybody know if there is a way to have a parking gate illuminated? The only light is coming from the windows of the terminal waiting area and vehicle headlights (not realistic - should be spot lights on the terminal building or pole lights). It is difficult to see (GSX operation) if you arrive after dark. Thanks Juergen
  18. Hi, in my p3d v3.1, the lights look like a candle threw up on the roads. The lights look very smudged. Using Orbx vector global. HDR is on in game Dillon Lifrieri

  20. Hi, I purchased DX10 fixer this week and have taken the leap to DX10. Already seeing a much more stable simulator and a slight performance boost. The fixer does seem to be working as it's fixed a number of issues with AI aircraft textures. But, I'm having a problem with night lighting poles, which are displaying as black boxes during the day. I understand this is a known transparency issue with DX10. I think the lighting in question is coming with ORBX FTX Global or Vector (I have both installed), as it seems to occur all over the world. Switching to DX9 puts everything back to normal again. I've read both the manual that came with the fixer and searched on both this and ORBX forums and see that the fixer is supposed to repair this issue at installation. I've tried removing the libraries and re-downloading them, and then also completely uninstalling and reinstalling DX10 fixer. But the problem still persists. I'm at a loss as to what to do next - any ideas? Thanks, Dominic
  21. Does anybody know if the dome lighting can be assigned to a key? I've seriously spent the last couple of hours scouring the key / joystick assignments to assign the Dome light, but to no avail. I have DataRefEditor but unless you know what you're actually looking for, this is like a needle in a hay stack .. I ultimately want to bind it to my Saitek Switch panel but can't even find the command in the first place. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!
  22. Here is a fix (tested) for those of you who have the horrible floating square... Note, this does get rid of the lotus style landing lights. If you do not know how to navigate in the FSX directory structure DO NOT USE THIS. We will be releasing an updated installer shortly that will deal with all this. Though this is good ONLY for the B-55/E55 we do intend to look at the others and implement this fix across the board. www.milviz.com/filesfordownload/Beech_Baron_55_landing_light_fix.zip Thanks for your patience.
  23. Hi, I am trying to figure out which of these options looks the closest to real life. I did buy P3D, but my PC couldn't run it smoothly so I had to revert back to FSX. Right now I am using it with ENB. In your opinion, please rate it from 1-5, 1 being the most realistic and 5 being the least. Default FSX FSX with ENB (state which ENB) FSX with a mod (state which mod) FSX with DX10 FSX with DX10 fixer Which one looks closest to real life? I'm having a hard time figuring it out.
  24. Hello,I'm on the first long haul with 747as the night wore off, the cockpit (2D & 3D) had all lighting turned off, without me doing anythingis that an automated FSX feature, or is there something I can do about turning on/off lights at my discretion?thanksMarco Gabbrielli
  25. Why is it that dynamic lighting only works at night? I had been trying to figure out a way to have the dynamic lighting working for 24 hours, why? Because in cloudy conditions, the scenery would look dark and the aircraft lights won't illuminate the ground (which is unrealistic), not only aircrafts but sceneries that support dynamic lighting won't work until night time. I honestly don't mind the fps problem, I had set mine to 8x mmsa and things are going just fine. Can someone please help and provide me with a file within the Prepar3D folder that I could modify? Thanks!
