OK, you've got it. Let me know, when you can, where and when to pick it up. Good luck with the winds!GeraldKMLB

Paul,You might focus on PASY. The winds are nasty, but you have a 10,000 ft runway (at the old Air Force Base). Lots of margin of error.ATU is a little Coast Guard supply field. Much tougher landing, given the local winds. When you get near enough, you might give us a heads-up on the ETA. Gerald, are you ready to go?Does anyone want to volunteer to join me in a run through the (US) night until our European colleagues can take over?Best,Mike

PS. The PASY-UHPP run is pretty long (570nm) but seems to have a good tailwind at the moment. So Gerald (or Greg?), please pick a craft with enough range and altitude capacity to jump that puddle... :-hahM.

Hi Mike,Paul's going to land at PADK, so I'll go PADK to PASY. And, yep, I'm ready.GeraldKMLB

So let's say that Gerald will take over from Paul at something like 8:00 PM EST (0100Z) and runs to PASY by about 10:00 PM EST (0300Z). (EST is the Forum's local time.)I'll take the PASY-UHPP run unless we get another volunteer. (The door is wide open!) That would leave a LONG trip from Kamchatka to Hokaido. Say UHPP-RJCM. (It doesn't do any good to go northwest as we would eventually have an equally long trip back southward.)So the schedule probably looks like:PILOT FLIGHT DEPART ARRIVALPaul PADU-PADK (6:00-8:00 PM EST) 2300-0100Z Gerald PADK-PASY (8:00-10:30 PM EST) 0100-0330ZVolunteer PASY-UHPP (10:30-1:30 AM EST) 0330-0630ZVolunteer UHPP-RJCM (1:30-5:30 AM EST) 0630-1030Z(all flight times approximate, and likely to slip for the usual reasons)Whereupon the AVSIM Europeans are back in business. Volunteers?Best,Mike

I have landed at PADK. I flew the Freeware Flight Group Saab 340 in ATA's Chicago Express livery.PADU-PADK 384.2nm. Winds were 080 @ 25. Broke through the ceiling at 1,700 on the ILS for RWY 23.METAR: PADK 182353Z 08025KT 7SM -RA SCT015 OVC020 05/02 A2847------------------------------------------------------------------------PADK Adak Navy AK METAR observed at: 18 Feb 23:53 UTC (34 minutes ago)Wind direction: from 80 degreesWind speed: 25 knotsVisibility: 11200 metersPresent weather: Light RainSky conditions: Scattered (3/8-4/8) at 1500 feet Overcast (8/8) at 2000 feetTemperature: 5 degrees Celsius, Dew point: 2 degrees CelsiusAltimeter setting: 28.47 inches mercuryPaul Meyer - Morris, C09status.php?id=810173&indicator=OD1&a=a.jhttp://www.flightsimnetwork.com/dcforum/Us...7b45404593a.jpg

OK, I have the baton, going PADK-PASY in the King Air. I'll report when I'm off, hopefully in about ten.Best,GeraldKMLB

I'm off, ETA PASY 0210Z. Nice 25kt tailwind, overcast skies...LaterBest,GeraldKMLB

Gerald,Blue Skies...I'll take over next unless we get a volunteer. Anyone? Note that the next leg (UHPP-RJCM) will be a Bear. Gosh.Mike

I'll do it. Suggest a fast plane, and I'll do it. I am standing by at PASY. I did about 650nm with a P-38 out of BOS on the first leg. But if you want to fly it, fly it. FYI, Team Flightsim.com is entering Asia....------------UPDATE: I am standing down. Greg's got it!Paul Meyer - Morris, C09status.php?id=810173&indicator=OD1&a=a.jhttp://www.flightsimnetwork.com/dcforum/Us...7b45404593a.jpg

Gerald/Mike...I'm standing by for the PASY-UHPP leg. Gerald - if you want to shoot over an email ([email protected]) I'll know better when you're done. Until your post or message!-Greg

Greg (and Paul),Good. Please do PASY-UHPP. (Warning, as you approach UHPP, you'll run into a 9,500 ft mountain directly on the flight path. You'll want to deviate around to the NDBs that mark the runway, rather than fly directly to the airport.)I'll pick up the UHPP-RJCM flight when you finish. And might you please email me at [email protected] when you know your ETA--or simply post it here.I'll prepare the Cheyenne at UHPP for the long flight to Japan.Looking forward to this. Maybe we can make a dent in the huge Flightsim.com lead!Mike
