February 23, 200323 yr This may sound like a stupid question but what is meant by AFCAD? When I'm downloading scenery files for MS2002 it states that it is a AFCAD file. CAn anyone help?
February 23, 200323 yr Hi,In short: AFCAD is a graphical tool that allows you to download the traffic ways of a certain airport, to modify it, to add and correct the position of taxiways and airstrips, VORS, ILS etc. It can produce an output file and read a previously created file and import it FS2002. W.o.w. a necessary tool if you insert external sceneries in FS2002 to correct the simplified traffic ways of the Microsoft default scenery.hm
February 24, 200323 yr Hi,Search for afcad132.zip or afcad*.zip in the AVSIM library (Extended search, give the name in the file name field and search in fs2002 utilities). It will show up.hm
February 24, 200323 yr Not a stupid question at all. HM is dead on with his reply as to the nature of AFCAD. I would like to add something as well. AFCAD is a graphical tool that changes what you see (runways & navaids) in FS2002 from your GPS and map view as well as in AI traffic behavior. In order to change the properties of the navaids your actual instruments read and to which they respond, however, you'll want to get a program called EasyNavs. It's available on avsim.com under the filename "en2k400.zip" and has its own documentation.Kevin
