Fun Twist For the African Relief Mission

Featured Replies

I recently decided to try changing the mission file to make it so, instead of flying the mission in the DC-3, you fly it in the CRJ-700. I tried flying it today and it worked! Plus it was lots more fun and I even made it to Lubero (the last destination. If you fly it with the DC-3 you lose an engine and can't make it). To make these changes simply open up your main FSX folder, open the Missons folder, go to the Backcountry folder, and open the Congo folder. http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/174912.jpgOnce, there open the folder that is highlighted in the photo above (you may have to right-click over it and select "Open With"). Then scroll down to where it says, (Sim.0)Sim=Douglas DC-3 Paint4and change it to read, (Sim.0)Sim=Bombardier CRJ 700 Paint1Changing it to say that will make the mission start with the orange and blue, Orbit Airlines CRJ-700. If you want to use the CRJ, but with a different paint job simply change the "Paint1" to read: "Paint2" for the red and gold, Pacifica Airlines CRJ"Paint4" (that isn't a typo) for the silver and purple CRJor, if you want the white CRJ, just leave it to read,(Sim.0)Sim=Bombardier CRJ 700Personally I used the white and blue "Jet Sense" repaint by james joblon, available here on Avsim. IMPORTANT NOTE, THE PARENTHESES AROUND "Sim.0" NEED TO BE BRACKETS [], however if I write them that way, the forum just leaves that line blank.

Interesting, but you can make it to Lubero with the DC-3 when you lose the engine ... I managed it first time, other missions took me several attempts though :)
