On your advice, I've opened this thread at Simforums. I'll see what results and here's the link so other users of the product can see the response. USA Roads is a fun product, especially since I took up real flying. I was flying in Southern Arizona last weekend and the only landmarks were I-10 and some of the roads that headed south towards Douglas. When I returned home, I fired up FS2004 with USA Roads and found the same highway landmarks in my virtual recreation of the real flight. I don't have enough HD space for U. I found the issue. It's been stated in the forums that any time MSFS can't find a file or has to go hunting for it someplace other than where it expects, a memory leak can happen. Earlier threads had referenced filemon, a great little utility for seeing "who is looking for what" on your hard drive. So I fired up filemon and did my Phoenix circuit with USA Roads active. I found that MSFS was looking for a bunch of textures matching the filter "0jobia*.bmp", and it was looking for them in the ..sceneryworldtexture folder. Problem is, mine weren't there. I don't know whether I moved them or something else did or whether they are there by default, but mine ended up in the ..texture folder instead. Filemon showed them eventually being found there, but it seems that the searching process causes MSFS some memory issues.Just to be safe, rather than moving them back I copied them to the ..sceneryworldtexture folder. I fired up FS9 again, ran the circuit, and the graph showed exactly the same memory use as the default roads.Either I did something foolish or a third party program did, but I remembered I had an old tool, filemon, and the past threads and discussions in this forum that gave me the motivation to find my issue.-JohnEdit: I now remember where these bitmaps came from, but I am at a loss as to why it created such havoc when USA Roads is active. These textures were from a pre FS 9.1 fix I applied to take care of the seasonal ctd issue. I liked the fix so much, I kept the textures in place even after the 9.1 patch. My only hunch is some add on bgls add slight overhead on MSFS. It may be enough that if MSFS is busy hunting down textures, then MSFS can't do housekeeping and memory cleanup, and thus falls behind. It sounds good, anyway? :)

My bad - in a senile moment I read USA Roads as UT USA! I had the same issue with UT USA and solved it by turning off the 'Add detailed land areas' option.DJ

Hey John,Great great find!!!!Quick question for the FS experts though...WHY oh WHY do these OOM's always seem to get triggered in descent phase? What is so different? Every single OOM error that I see reported comes on descent. People can fly for anywhere from 1-14 hours without any issues but then in descent this OOM will trigger. OK, so the timing of this post could not have been better, thanks John.I had been plagued with these #### OOM errors forever about a year ago. I finally got everything working and have been doing long hauls with the LVL-D 767 and FS2Crew and the PMDG 744 and FS2Crew exclusively for the past 10 months or so. I have not added or modified anything and now all of a sudden they are back. So I went through the obvious, restored default texture folders, rebuilt pagefile in case it was corrupt and yet they are still there so I decided to run Filemon for 11 hours while I did LLBG-KEWR. Everything looked great and then bang OOM. Here is the excerpt from Filemon prior to the crash. Funny thing is I do not see any of these EFFECTS.FX error ANYWHERE until I crossed land in the USA again.
