Genesis mesh install problem

Featured Replies

Howdy,I tried to install the FS Genesis 38m US West Coast mesh into FS9 and completely screwed the pooch. The install directions say scenery/world/scenery, but for the life of me I couldn't find it anywhere so installed straight into "scenery" and crashed the sim like a rock.At startup it said something about the "terrain cfg. is missing and then CTD. It said re-install FS9 to fix the problem. So I did.Did a whole fresh install with Ground Environment Pro and Flight Environment and all works well.So.. could one of you kindly point ou the exact install path for the Genesis mesh please, or at least where my missing scenery/world/scenery folder has gone. Would be much apprecited.Thanks.

if you installed fs9 into it's default location, then it's here:C:Program FilesMicrosoft GamesFlight Simulator 9SceneryWorldsceneryhowever, you can just manually install all the FSG-mesh. I bought all their mesh (a ton of files), so putting them in worldscenery can get messy. You can make a folder anywhere, say: Flight Simulator 9MeshFSGScenery and drop the files in there (.blg files). Make sure the FSG folder doesn't have a "texture" folder, or your sim will crash. You should only have the scenery folder. Then run fs9, and in the scenery settings, point the directory to FSG, NOT FSGScenery! Or nothing will happen. And keep the FSG meshes ontop of all others...it should appear first on the list.hope this helps.-feng
