December 21, 200619 yr http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v294/gar...exturecross.jpgHas anyone else noticed this tiled effect after installing GE Pro ? I believe ge pro just highlights the effect rather than causes it but i'm just curious to hear if anyone sees it. I've read several explanations regarding the rendering of scenery textures beyond a certain distance and it kind of makes sense. However, i'm sure i didn't notice the effect when i first installed ge pro - it's sort of "crept" up on me. I've tried disabling all scenery that's been installed post ge pro but to no avail. I'm tempted to re-install ge pro but thought i'd ask first as i've now got several sets of textures created. Many thanksGary
December 21, 200619 yr Make sure your "Extended Terrain Textures" box is checked. That's likely the problem.
December 22, 200619 yr Hi Gary,That texture line has always been there, but the GEP textures do make it stand out a little more. Best bet is to limit your visibility a bit.Happy Holidays,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/

It is the line where FS9 stops to render detailed (landclass) terrain and replaces it with a more simplified world model. It is always there, but depending on altitude, terrain, textures and some other things it may be more or less visible at certain areas. Some say, GE pro textures make this border more visible, because the simplified world model blends more nicely with the default textures. The range of detail is mainly controlled by the "Terrain extended textures" setting. If enabled, the detailed ring around your airplane is bigger, but it will *never* reach the horizon, unless you have set the sight distance to a rather low value (60 miles or so) or your visibility is limited by weather conditions. Just play with this setting and watch the line getting closer when you disable the "extended textures".
