January 16, 200719 yr Hi Phil,Visibility is set on the weather screen and the slider will accept 20, 30, 40, 50. There is no cfg. entry, as far as I know.Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/
January 16, 200719 yr Take a look for the following line in your FS9.cfg:MAX_UNLIMITED_VIS=96560This parameter sets the maximum unlimited visibility - i.e. the maximum visibility the sim will display in clear weather conditions. The parameter is set in meters. 1 nautical mile = 1852 meters, so if you want 35NM you should change the value to 64820.Bear in mind though the visibility settings used in the FS menu screens are statute miles, not nautical miles! The default value of 96560 meters is 60 statute miles, or just over 52 nautical miles.I have heard some people recommend setting the maximum unlimited vis to 30 statute miles, which gives you a nice blended horizon and avoids any harsh visibility changes, however, it does give the effect of flying on a permanently hazy day and is not too good if you like to fly at higher alitudes. Also remember if you change the above parameter and then go into the weather settings in the display options in FS9 it will automatically revert back to the default setting 96560.Hope this helps! Nick
