Giant Squares!! Help

Featured Replies

I have no idea what is going on here...I have huge chunks of missing textures in Illinois and Indiana. They are giant grey squares. When flying over them FS9 freezes and backs out. I'm running FSGenesis Mesh and Landclass. I thought it might be the landclass so I reinstalled it...no luck. Is there a way to reinstall the textures? Anyone else have this problem? I have no idea how to reinstall FS9 scenery since running Disc 1 just gices me the option to "RUN" or "Uninstall"...never had this kind of problem before...any advice would be appreciated.-Markus

It seems like most of the FSG landlass in this area is 5,25,and 35. According to my cheat sheet, that should be textures with names like:011b2xxN.bmp024b2xxN.bmp052b2xxN.bmpwhere xx is the season/night setting and N is the variant. These are all located in sceneryworldtexture folder.the first thing I would do is try loading the sim in different seasons, and see if it works in some of them. Maybe it is a problem with just "hard winter" (hw) for example.Alternatively, maybe you installed some photo scenery and those tiles are missing? If you are missing the default textures, you should be able to look into the cab files on the install disk and find the ones with the above name format and copy them over. Of course, if you installed custom textures such as VOZ, BEV or GE, they could be overwritten.scott s..
