KSFO scenery glitch?

Recommended Posts

Guest rrblackmun

I've noticed what appears to be an 'artifact' (glitch) in the scenery for KSFO (San Francisco) -- a large, black multi-sided, multi-story building in the ramp area between International Terminal A (gates A2 - A9) and Terminal 1, Boarding Area B (Gates 20 - 24 & 35-36). Since it doesn't seem that it should be there (and there's no reference to it on the flysfo.com website), I turned off all add-on scenery that had any reference to ksfo (including all afcad's, etc) but the building was still there. When I temporarily removed the default scenery for San Franciso (Flight Simulator 9SceneryNamewScenerySanFran.bgl), the building, and all other structures , disappears. This seems to indicate that this building is part of the default scenery. Has anyone else seen this? If it's part of the default scenery, what is it & why is it in the middle of the ramp area? Any ideas how to remove it if it doesn't belong?-Bob Blackmun

>Seems to be an old terminal building, and it's on the AD: >>http://myairplane.com/databases/approach/pdfs/00375AD.PDF>Good point - I hadn't looked at the official airport diagram. It was clearly there when FS9's scenery was created. Now my challenge is to figure out how to remove it from the default scenery(since the info. on flysfo.com appears to indicate that it no longer exists).

Hi,ExcBuilder should remove that building for you:1. Go into Slew mode (Y)2. Go into Top Down view (Ctrl-S)3. Press the Space Bar to point true north.4. Slew to the upper left of your exclude area. Click the two buttons in the upper left of ExcBuilder5. Slew to the lower right of your exclude area. Click the two buttons in the lower left of ExcBuilder.6. Select to exclude Generic Buildings and Library Objects (for example), or select All Objects to get rid of the autogen trees and buildings. 7. Click the Generate XML button.8. Click the Generate Exclude File button. I give mine names that start with x (xklax_terminal.bgl).Move the resulting .bgl file from your ExcBuilder folder to your scenery's folder, or to the Addon Scenery/scenery folder, or any other active scenery folder.Hope this helps,--Tom GibsonCal Classic Propliner Page: http://www.calclassic.comFreeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.comDrop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___
