March 28, 200719 yr I fired up the Baron for a flight from Sand Point to Fairbanks. As I flew, I noticed that plane would be tossed to the left or right erratically. I brought up the status screen, and noticed the wind direction jumping from 320, to 125, to 225, ect. But on occation the wind direction would change slowly. Another quirk, was that the altitude would suddenly change by 100', up or down. I'm just a bit curious as to what causes this weird wind issue. Another thing I've notice that if you change altitude to get above/below the clouds, the clouds will eventually seek your new altitude, unless you get well above 20,000 feet.Part of the secret of success in life is to eat what you like -M.Twain

March 30, 200719 yr The main issue is the way a computer has to divide weather boundaries as hard edges. When different weather stations report different weather at different times, you don't get a whole picture and the 'edges' can be abrupt.Weather smoothing has sold many copies of FSMeteo and Active Sky, though even those can have some rough changes at times in some locations.I'll have to check before the thunderstorms zap my internet connection tonight, but I think you need the full version of FSUIPC to make it smooth the weather transitions.
March 30, 200719 yr >but I think you need the full version of FSUIPC to make it >smooth the weather transitions.this is correct. you just need to play with the setting to find the transition speed you like (for wind (strength & direction) and pressure).-- D. March 30, 200719 yr Hi,If you are talking about wind smoothing, then even the unregistered version has default smoothing. No, you cannot adjust this.If you are talking about sudden weather changes, then you will need a 3rd party weather program.Thanks!Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/
