FFX DC9 and Golding's panel

Featured Replies

I have downloaded the definite king of the freeware DC9 models available to date, FFX's MD80 derivative. However, I am having a couple of problems. The US Navy gray repaint tends to keep the nose gear extended especially after replaying your takeoff from spot view. Furthermore, on the two repaints I have downloaded the throttles are oversensitive giving N1 oscilations that did not happen with my current setup on any other addon or default aircraft.I have also tried different panels to fit this bird. Although Paul Golding's FS2000 MD80 panel is among the best, the 2K2 adaptation will not allow toggling hdg and alt hold with your mouse or changing vertical speed on the original a/p. The old concorde a/p is just too ugly. I have also had to use the alternate panel.cfg which deletes a couple of gauges from the overhead panel so the engines won't die when bringing up the overhead. I have also tried a farely good panel available at: http://www.bahnhof.se/~classic/index.htmlThe problem with this panel is that it uses de ACS-GPS gauge instead of the default GPS and I always get an "error retrieving data" message from that gauge. I tried to manually replace this GPS with the default and the Garmin GPS to no avail. Anybody want to take a shot as to how to do this?Sorry for extending myself.Maurice

The absolutely best adaptation of Paul Golding's Md-8x panels for FS2002 are by Marco Diaz. They are here at Avsim and he has updates at his website at:http://www.prodigyweb.net.mx/mada58/fs2002-md83-pnl.htmlNot only does his adaptation work really well, but you can use Tony D'Ambrosio's Navdata with it that gives a nice enroute FMC with it. If you get it, e-mail me and I'll send you lines to add to have great wing views at the push of a button on your joystick, and still keep all your cockpit views.Lee
