Changing airline call signs.

Featured Replies

Hi, I wont to change airline names. British Airways I know is called "speedbird". How does one change so that atc says thes? Thank you.

The call signs for many airlines are already programmed into FS - BA certainly is. So if you're not hearing FS say 'speed bird' when it talks to you then check your aircraft.cfg file to make sure it contains this line in the appropriate [fltsim.x] section:atc_airline=Speed birdA common mistake here is to write it all as one word ('speedbird') which FS will not recognise.;)

A complete list of default computer codes which can be cause sound files to be played for airline call signs is in the VoicePack SDK for FS2004.http://support.microsoft.com/kb/555857If you are talking about AI aircraft - you need to change the entry in the atc_airline= line to match one of the codes. If you are talking about the user aircraft - you can change that entry - but you really need to update the airlines.cfg file located in the Aircraft folder in FS2004, the root folder in FSX.That will allow you to select the airline code from the drop down box. Please note these are CODES to play a sound file, not the actual call sign. Microsoft uses the actual call sign as much as possible - but there are many minor differences between the code and the call sign - the space in Speed Bird is one.An additional, and better, solution is to install Edit Voice Pack. This program allows you to add new call signs and install many updates created by various other people.Lars is working on the FSX version, so active updates for the FS2004 version have ended. He simply doesn't have the time to support two versions. But there are plenty of updated voice files available in the library for FS2004 and almost any other you need can be supplied by someone.http://www.editvoicepack.com/

atc_flight_number=1123A flight number must be assigned.

>atc_flight_number=1123>A flight number must be assigned.Although not if the aircraft is AI.CheersStew
