Best way to re-install FS9 after crash

Featured Replies

I was hoping to pick the brains of the community that know a lot more about computers then me. My C drive crashed and I have now installed a new 500 gig Seagate Drive and re-installed XP ect. I had backed up the entire FS-9 folder so I have it on two other drives and was wondering what the best way to re-stroe it would be. I understand I will have to re-install my payway stuff but I am trying to avoid doing all my add-onn sceneries. I also have the CFG backed up somewhere but can't find it yet. Any suggestions would be great and thanks in advance.Shayne

Not sure if that would work as some of add-on sceneries have a registry entry.I would assume at least the payware ones do.

Somewhere along the line I started to encounter FS9 crashes - never quite sure why.I backed up all sorts of stuff to an external disk and then reinstalled. To save a lot of effort I restored what I could from the external drive.Thereafter, I could not complete a flight without FS crashing. After several reinstalls using this method, I reinstalled once more, but this time religiously reinstalled my payware from the supplier site. This is a pain in the a$$ beraing in mind I had paid for all the stuff quite properly.I haven't had a CTD since. So be careful, a little time restoring from the original files may save you a lot of trouble later.
