Another smoke query

Featured Replies

HelloI am a volcano fan.Sometime ago there where some effects files that added eruptions to some of the worlds volcanoes, these effects seemed to try to show actual eruption activity, and i was just wondering if it would be possible not to try and show spectacular eruptions, but just smoke drifting from some of the summits?a lot of active volcanoes often do have a just a gentle stream of smoke and steam coming from them without there necessarily being a big eruption. Now theres a challenge for somebody.cheers Andy

I noticed when I was checking the effects files for the smokestacks that there was some effects files for the volcano in Hawaii. You might check that out to determine how they did that one.

Thanks for replying to my query.I suspect its probably not feasible at least if your flying airliners, smoke effects ie factory chimneys etc are only visible if you are flying low and slow in light aircraft.I didn't really expect to get any replies, but as you never know i thought i would at least ask.Maybe something for the future. When you consider that volcanoes can be a very real threat to airliners cruising at altitude it would be nice to see plumes drifting away from the worlds major summits.Maybe the Activesky people can come up with an active Volcano add on in the future. :-)
