The hideous default KJFK

Featured Replies

Hi!Does anyone know where to find all textures for the default KJFK?I'm going to try to replace/repaint them myself, unless there areready-made replacement textures. It's a shame how boring/ugly they are.I don't want to use Simflyer's or any other addon sceneries, because of framerates.Grateful for help. Thanks!Hans HermanssonSweden

You can't replace the textures of "default KJFK". Those textures are used on every airport that uses FS9 default airport textures. So if you change KJFK, all other default airports are going to change. Search for Airport Environment Upgrade 7 by Chris Arrinton in Avsim library, those are much better than default, though I warn you, they are higher resolution than default, and on my system caused stutters. Didn't try them on the new E6600 system...If you want to replace the default KJFK, you would have to make a complete scenery, then you can paint it as much as you like.Simflyers on todays computers aren't much heavier than other addons.

Keep in mind that any changing you do to default textures (which are what are being used at the default KJFK) will affect buildings all over the world - they are not specific to individual airports. So before doing anything I would recommend you audition aeu7.zip - here in the library.http://library.avsim.net/search.php?Search...=root&Go=SearchThis is a comprehensive enhancement which many simmers find very useful. Be SURE to backup any files which this enhancement replaces in case you do not care for the results. There are other similar packages but many prefer this one.Hope this is helful
