  1. This is Opa's son and I thank you all for the wonderful comments. These last few days have been very difficult, but reading your wonderful posts have helped the healing. He is deeply missed! Daryl
  2. Use the word "library" - without the quotes - and limit the search to FS2004 Scenery Design. That will bring up many, many library packages which EZ can use. Remember that EZ can use all of the RWY12 object libraries, all of the so called EZ style libraries and all of the default objects which come in FS2004.
  3. I am still on vacation for another 5 or 6 days but when I get back home I will look up the info and can send it to you. (assuming I still have it after all this time). Please PM me with your e-mail address and use Tallin as the subject - as a reminder.
  4. What is your "Scenery Complexity" slider setting? Some objects such as buildings and jetways do not show up when it is set at "Normal" - if that is where yours is set, try setting it to Dense or Very Dense.
  5. Yes, as far as I know the effects files are the same in either version of FS. Give it a try.
  6. I believe that is basically correct. If memory serves, there may be several smoke effect files in the library which you can download and install in your effects folder to get additional colors.Good Luck!.
  7. I assume you are aware that the fx_smoke_w etc. is referring to the actual name of an effect file in your effects folder. As an example, if fx_smoke_r (it most likely will have an .fx extension also) does not exist in your effects folder then it will not display.
  8. Try this:In each "window" in the panel.cfg file there should be a line which says - visible=0Change it to read visible=1 (1 meaning yes - 0 (zero) meaning no)The window in question should then be visible when you load the aircraft.Hope that is what you were referring to.
  9. Nothing adverse to report - all works well for me in either version.I did fail to mention that after completing the installs as I described, that I did turn UAC back on and have left it on.
  10. Installing FS in a location other than under "Program files" will avoid many of the permission and security check issues which abound in Win7.Spend some time in the dedicated Win7 forum - there is at least one "step by step" post there showing how it is done.
  11. I would double check the "location" of the SCEL afcad which you say you can open uisng the "by location" option. It sounds as if it is not in an "active" scenery subfolder. If that is the case, then the normal afacd search would not find it. Try putting it in an active scenery subfolder and see if that works.Note: If there is a scenery entry for SCEL (which has been added via the Scenery Library dialogue,, put it in the scenery subfolder of that entryKeep us posted.
  12. With little bit of work you can also create a "reserved" parking spot, just for you - and ATC will direct you properly to it. This illustrated Tutorial will show you how.http://library.avsim...isc&DLID=125172I have such spots reserved at most of the airports where Southwest flies - as that is my favorite airline.
  13. Have you checked the CalClassics website?http://www.calclassic.com/Aircraft and much more available there.
  14. I would just disable it by changing the extension to something like bglxThe size of the default traffic file is basically correct (it can vary of you have manually added to it). There should be no need to do a repair now - and no, it will only replace missing or corrupted files.I did not address the other questions as don't believe a repair shoud be necessary.Keep us posted.
  15. I agree that you likely still have a Traffic file installed which is in FS2004 format - that will supress the display of FSX format Traffic files. The conversion tool I recommend is found on the file menu of the free AI Flight Planner utily by Don Grovestine. You can get the latest version here: http://members.shaw.ca/aifp/It has an option to search your system for any FS2004 format Traffic files and automatically convert them.Sorry to hear you gave up on WOAI - many, many use it with no issues at all.
  16. Just a friendly bit of advice..........Never post your e-mail address in this, or any forum, anywhere - unless you enjoy receiving spam. The "bad guys" use automated programs to troll forums seeking e-mail addresses which are then passed on to spammers. If you need to be contacted, ask folks to send you a PM (Personal Message) instead.
  17. This is the link I used and the instructions also:Step 1 - Download the link below:http://rapidshare.co...Limiter_0.2.rarStep 2 - Extract the file anywhere you like, but make sure that the place where you put it, will be its PERMENANT location (this is to eliminate directory path problems in the future).Step 3 - Run the file in the folder that you just extracted, called "FPS_Limiter_GUI.jar", DO NOT run the "FPS_Limiter.exe" file, it will not work.Step 4 - When you have the program running in front of you, you will need to browse to the root location of the executable file of the game of your choosing. (NOTE: Games that already have an automatic 30fps cap cannot be increased any higher, so it is pointless to select these games)Step 5 - Once you have the game's DIRECT executable chosen, select from one of the 3 in the dropdown list at the menu at the top of the screen.D3D8 - DirectX 8 gamesD3D9 - DirectX 9 gamesOGL - OpenGL games (very few games run with the OpenGL language)Step 6 - Once you have selected either D3D8/D3D9/OGL, then select which framerate you want the game to lock at at the "maximum fps" box. For best results, if your lowest framerate is under 30, select a number that is 5-10 fps above for that specific game. If your framerate is above 30, select any number between 30 to 50. Experiment with it a little, you can always change your framerate lock.Step 7 - Once you've selected your Maximum FPS, click on "create bat" to make a .bat file in the FPS Limiter folder.Step 8 - When you're ready to play, double click on that .bat file. If you wish to make a shortcut, right click on the .bat file and select "Create Shortcut". You can change the name of the shortcut ONLY, do not change the name of the .bat file.NOTE: To change your Maximum FPS setting without repeating the whole process, right click on the .bat file created, and go to edit. Now find the line that says "/f:X" replace the "X" variable with whatever you like. Also be sure to set the target frame rate in FS to "unlimited".Hope that helps.
  18. You are a tease Shez -What airport might that be?Sure looks good at this stage of development.
  19. Did you check to see if the "unlimted" setting within FSX has become changed?
  20. Wrong forum - this one is for questions regarding the file library.Try the FS2004 forum.
  21. I had the same thing just this past week on a clean install of FS2004 on an XP Operating System. It turned out that I had re-installed my old LAGO FSE utility but had failed to run the update for FSE. Once I ran the update the problem went away.Perhaps you have a similar issue.Hope that helps.
  22. If you are not getting the "Tune ATIS" option at airports which are not in the default FS2004 database - such as Kai Tak (9Dragons version) or a ficticious airport you have created yourself, the following should correct the problem:a. Open the airport in Afcad or similar utility.b. Under Lists, locate the Com frequencies and then highlight the ATIS entry and select Properties.c. The "Name" data must be the airport's ICAO code. See screenshot. In the case of Kai Tak, the afcads which come with the enhancement all read Hong Kong instead of VHHX.Just changing the Name data allowed the ATIS to now be an option on my ATC menu. If you are adding the ATIS, just be sure the ICAO code of the airport is in the Name box.Hope this is helpful.
  23. I don't know about RC, but to get it to work in FS2004 I edited the afcad ATIS entry (properties). It presently says Hong Kong in the Name box - I changed it to read VHHX - and it now works for me.EDIT added: I also posted this "fix" in the Tips and Tricks forum along with a screenshot.Hope that helps.
  24. You will likely get a quicker response if you post your question in the FS2Crew support forum:http://forum.avsim.net/forum/212-fs2crew-support-forum/Good Luck!
  25. It it turns out not to be UT related, it sure has the look of malware. You might want to give this free utiltiy a try just to be sure:http://www.malwarebytes.org/
