  1. I believe it includes fixes for the default lights, and thus it try to override the defaults but since they are not there they would then override the addon lights as they addon lights have replaced the defaults.Edit; Oops I see what you mean. :( I forgot that it leaves out the spotlight.
  2. Yep, it worked. Fs2004 smoke effects work in FSX. I downloaded four colors (which came in the same pack) although I renamed them from their original name to a fsx name, for example: bra_v to fx_smoke_v. This is actually green smoke. Extra 300, showing off it's FS2004 green smoke system in FSX
  3. I believe there are fixes for this problem - google is your friend.Since this doesn't really annoy me that much, I don't bother to download a fix for this problem. (I also mainly fly at day).
  4. I can find many FS2004 smoke colours, but no FSX ones. Do you think FS9 effects could work in FSX?
  5. So if I were to somehow create an effect that displays green smoke into my effects folder and called it fx_smoke_g, it would display green smoke? (As I have just recently found out that FSX default only includes red and white).
  6. That's what I thought, but nothing comes out when I use these letters. So far, I have only been able to use 'r' and 'w'
  7. I would be interested to know what letters represent what colours in the default smoke system.]Currently I have this under [smokesystem]smoke.0=-10.00, -0.70, 0.0, fx_smoke_w smoke.1=-33, -20.00, 1.40, fx_smoke_rsmoke.2=-33, 20.00, 1.40, fx_smoke_rw = whiter = redb = nullg = nullI don't know any other letters other than 'r' and 'w' for the smoke colour, anybody got any letters they know that work?
  8. Did it work? I would be interested to know. I just took a stab in the dark :(
  9. I don't know if this will work, but you may want to try this guys fix. It may override the files you have now.Forum link: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/286842-new-fsx-lights/
  10. I didn't rename mine, I just made a new folder (highlighted in green) with the original in it.I don't know if this is associated with deleting/moving the fsx.cfg file (highly doubt it as when I replace the new with the original smoke still does not work) the smoke will not work on the Extra 300 & FA-18, I believe this is another problem all together.Edit: It seems something was corrupted in my Gauges - ran a repair programme and got it sorted out!
  11. So I had the problem where you cannot right-click to bring down the drop-down menu in-game (this seems like a problem quite a few users will experience). To resolve this issue, I followed these steps. Navigate to your fsx.cfg file. (mine was located under: C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Application Data\Microsoft\FSX) Make a backup copy of the file Delete the fsx.cfg file and start up FSX. It should give you a notification about setting keys, press Yes. (It is just like when you first started FSX after the first time you installed it) Test out the right-click, the issue should be resolved.
