Unable to see the wings from 2D Panel

Featured Replies

Hello fellow flightsimmers :) I got a bit of a problem which I hope to be solved with some help from you guys.Loud and clear, suddenly I can't see the wings (animated in the VC) from my 2D Panel when looking back. And yes, I can see the wings perfectly clear when I'm in the VC mode.First, I just thought I'd messed up one single aircraft, but it turned out I couldn't see the wings (again, from the 2D Panel) in any aircraft I had. I've got no clue, but maybe there's an easy solution for this one covering all the aircrafts.Thank you.

To see wing views you need to have an addon aircraft which has them internally modelled. As it happens, some do have them, others don't. What's more, you need to have a proper coordinates config to see them.Let's make an experiment. Please downolad Posky 737-800W and paste into your panel cfg (the one you are using) the following lines at the end of your VIEWS section:VIEW_FORWARD_LEFT_UP_DIR=08.0, 0.0, 285VIEW_FORWARD_LEFT_UP_EYE=1.1, -0.2 -21.5VIEW_FORWARD_LEFT_UP_ZOOM=1.0VIEW_FORWARD_RIGHT_UP_DIR=08.0, 0.0, 75VIEW_FORWARD_RIGHT_UP_EYE=0.0, -0.2 -21.5VIEW_FORWARD_RIGHT_UP_ZOOM=1.0 VIEW_LEFT_UP_DIR=15.0, 0.0, 260VIEW_LEFT_UP_EYE=0.0, 1.0 -12.0VIEW_LEFT_UP_ZOOM=0.75VIEW_RIGHT_UP_DIR=15.0, 0.0, 100VIEW_RIGHT_UP_EYE=1.0, 1.0 -12.0VIEW_RIGHT_UP_ZOOM=0.75 VIEW_REAR_LEFT_UP_ZOOM=1.0VIEW_REAR_LEFT_UP_EYE=-1.5, 0.80, -5.00VIEW_REAR_LEFT_UP_DIR=12.0, 0.0, 220VIEW_REAR_RIGHT_UP_ZOOM=1.0VIEW_REAR_RIGHT_UP_EYE=2.5, 0.80, -5.00VIEW_REAR_RIGHT_UP_DIR=12.0, 0.0, 140And now, using the NumPad key combinations check if you can see them.Remember to have the NumLock ON!The combinations sre:5+75+95+45+65+15+3Report if you have them in sight or not.Best regards,Rafal

Hello Rafal :) ..and thanks for helping out.Although, I wish it would be that easy. Sorry if I wasn't clear enough, the problem has nothing to do with my cordinates and that I can't find my way back to the wings. The problem is that the wings ain't there at all (and yes, even though the aircraft has been internally modelled).I must have done something with the FS9 setups which has deleted the feature to see modelled internally from the 2D Panel. Thanks anyway!

Rafal! Ok, the problem has been solved! :) I changed back to an older FS9.cfg, and suddenly I could see the wings again from the 2D Panel. I don't know what caused this in the FS9.cfg, but I'll have a look at it.Thanks anyway for caring!

Niklas, glad to see you're happy with wing views again!I also find it a great value to enjoy wing views while flying, especially during longer flights. That's something in which FS is even better than real aircraft! :) You can be a pilot and simultaneously enjoy the world down there. I have no idea what value in the fs9.cfg could disable your internal views. Great they're back, anyway. If you happen to need any wing view entries one day, just let me know. I've made lots of them, for many addon planes.Enjoy your flights!Best regards,Rafal

Niklas:For future reference, I believe your FS9.cfg (Graphics section) had the entry, see_self=0. That will turn off side views from the 2-D panel as well as turning off landing lights. The older FS9.cfg that you changed back to should have the entry see_self=1, so the side views and landing lights are back on.On some models, the side views are very cluttered from the 2-D panel and it gets hard to see things. For that situation, I came across a gauge, ClearVu1.zip, that toggles the side view (and landing lights). During the day I can see the sights and at night I can see the runway. ClearVu1.zip might be available here, but I'm sure it can be found at the other FS site. Regards,JerryH
