How To Resize EZ Scenery Objekts for better performance?

Recommended Posts

Guest XQ-NUE

Hello,it is able to reduce the size of trees and autogen in the FS9 for a better performance. Is this possible with the ES Scenery / Instant Scenery Objects? I tried it but everytime the file size is bigger than the original file size. The original one is about 9kb and I want to reduce it.How to make this? Many thanks for help

As Dave says, you have to find new objects - you cannot alter the existing ones with any program. You might be able to reduce the size of the textures used (i.e. reduce their size from 512 x 512 to 256 x 256), but this doesn't affect the frame rate much unles you are limited by your video card (somewhat rare).BTW, the size of the BGL that you create with EZ Scenery has nothing to do with the objects (they are in the library bgl file you chose in the EZS drop down box and stay there). EZS just creates a bit of scenery code telling FS to place that object in a certain place. As you stated, your file is 9 KB - this is a tiny file with no frame rate hit at all - it's the actual display of the objects (i.e. from the library bgl) that does that.Hope this helps,--Tom GibsonCal Classic Propliner Page: http://www.calclassic.comFreeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.comDrop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___
