Strange Problem!

Featured Replies

From the startup menu: Whenever I try to set a flightplan from KJAX, I get a CTD. This also happens if I try to set a flightplan just before taxi, and in the air, after takeoff. This is a solid problem,(fails everytime). Why this area? I'm going to try several other local airports to see if it happens there also. I'll get back to this post, but in the meantime, all and any suggestions are welcome.Bill :-roll

I'm overwhelmed by all he helping responses(bit of sarcasm there). This seems only to happen when using Real time Weather, and isn't confined to KJAX. In any case the CTD generates a report to Microsoft of a problem with FS9. I wonder what they do with these reports?Bill :+

Bill,I've had a similar problem a long time ago and reverting back my backed up (and patched to 9.1) modules folder did the trick. However, your reference to real weather might be a texture issue with some DXT textures (don't ask for too much detail here, I'm by far no expert with textures ;-)Anyways, see if the option "render to texture" (settings/display/hardware) is checked. If not, check it and load real weather somewhere that currently has lots of clouds, or use possibly a saved weather situation with cloudy conditions.Hope this helps,Petehttp://members.aol.com/pzsoulman/myhomepage/logo.gifGIGABYTE Light 3D Galaxy II Liquid CoolingENERMAX Galaxy EGA850EWL ATX 850W Power SupplyNVIDIA nForce 680i SLI ATX Intel MoboCore 2 Duo E6700 1066MHz FSB 4M shared L2 Cache LGA 775CORSAIR XMS2 2GB SDRAM DDR2 800GeForce 8800GTX 768MB 384-bit GDDR3 PCI ExpressSBlaster X-Fi XtremeMusic 7.12 x Western Digital Raptor 150GB 10000 RPM 16MB Cache SATA Raid01 Seagate Barracuda 320GB 7200RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/sWinXP Home SP2CH Yoke/Pedals
