Is TP going to sleep on me??

Featured Replies

This morning I noticed that I was not getting good textures in an area that I would expect to - Oahu with Yahoo. When the TP DOS box indicated that all the resolutions had been downloaded, the textures looked good - but after a while they looked blurry. I could then see from the TP DOS box that there were LOD textures missing - but TP did not appear to be trying to fetch these ( no blinking of lights on my ADSL modem) . Or is it that TP can't get them from the server for some reason?Just CuriousBarry

No response to this question so I will try to rephrase it.Why is it that sometimes I have to "refresh" scenery in FSx ( while using TP) to force TP to go fetch missing textures that are available on the map service server. It doesn't seem to be a matter of "slow" downloading of textures - but a "cessation" of downloading that makes me have to refresh scenery. This only happens sometimes.Barry

To be honest, I have no idea. There are some effects and quirks with my driver concept yet, especiall when running under Vista, that I do not understand and that I cannot fix easily.

Hi Christian - thanks for the efforts and interest anyway:-) I am really enjoying TP - sometimes it seems to work better than at other times - in the same area. So I suspect the Map providors - or my ISP. Just lately I have been getting some timeouts with Y***- something that I haven't noticed before. Regards and Thanks againBarry
