November 30, 200817 yr I want to get a battery backup for my system, well at least the tower and the monitor etcWe have occasional power flutters here and I hate when my system shuts down without warning.A few I was looking at are here:are they any good?http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16842101067http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16842102048http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16842101137 | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
November 30, 200817 yr APC is the way to go, no matter what size you choose. You have to weight how much time you need, do you want this to be an "always on" type thing, or just enough time to shut down safely, etc?If it's just quick, short power surges or brown out type events, you don't need something that big. For me, all I want is enough time to weather a "quick" power outage, or if it's out longer then 10 mins I have time to shut down. :( I want to get a battery backup for my system, well at least the tower and the monitor etcWe have occasional power flutters here and I hate when my system shuts down without warning.A few I was looking at are here:are they any good?http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16842101067http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16842102048http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16842101137

November 30, 200817 yr Bingo. :) I use 2 UPS's at home, but that is because my rig has grown to 3-screens, 2 printers, etc etc. lol SO I needed more plugs. :)Overall, count the number of plugs you need. Keep in mind that NOT ALL plugs on there are battery-backup. About HALF are surge only. :) SO if you need more then 3-4 outlets for battery, check the specs and look at photos. If all you need is a quick juice during shortages, the one you show below is fine. :) lol alright, I really liked the l33t-looking LCD HAH!This one?http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16842101311
November 30, 200817 yr Author Alrighty...I already have a huge surge protector. It's a cyber power and so far so good. So I have plenty of outlets. I think the only things I'd put on the battery backup is of course the tower, monitor, maybe the router and modem.... the rest of my controllers and printers etc can go to the surge protector | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
