Giving Up On Asa Until Update (for Transatlantic Flights)

Well I have tried another north atlantic flight and very soon after setting out over the atlantic in the PSS 777 got wild 360 degree wind fluctuations (yes with wind smoothing checked as well) and found myself at 11000 feet insted of 34000 feet. Closing down ASA and starting ASV6.5 everything now working perfectly.I certainly dont feel as though ive wasted my money as I like the weather over europe and the winds behave there. I know the team are working on a patch and until then I wont use ASA for atlantic flights.John

Same here. I'm wondering how many people are able to use it right now. I bought ASA for specifically one reason - so I can flight gliders on my laptop with FS9 as I do on my desktop with FSX&cumulusx. For now it just makes FS crash (time bug).I kind of trust Hifi and no doubt, everything is going to be fixed. The question is when? If we have to wait for one or two weeks to get a fully functional product (that's what we pay for btw) it's totally fine, especially given the fact ASA (as well as ASX/AS6 series) is a unique product on the market. Now if it's 6 month and 3 services packs...

I just flew transatlantic and had *zero*wind shifts using ASA. None at all, smooth the whole way from KDFW to EDDF. Winds were also predictable with the forecast and the reported upper air winds. however, that is only one flight. I will do some more test flights and see how it goes, but so far, so good.Do you all have FSUIPC4.DLL in your FSX/Modules folder by chance?

I am using FS2004 and FSUIPC 3.81. The issues of extreme wind shifts over oceans with ASA is covered in other threads - was just making the point I have decided to stay with ASV6.5 over the atlantic John

I suggest you move your FSUIPC.DLL file to a /temp folder. Then enable ASA's Direct Wind Control. Then re-do your flight.See if that fixes it--because it did for me.
