Alternate Panel.cfg Files With Undockable Dus Fs9

Recommended Posts

Hi, I plan on purchasing the MD11 tonight, My setup with the 744 has the Lower EICAS, FMC, STATUS buttons,Throttle panel (for fuel cut off switches) and The comms panel (which can be hiddden with the panel switcher) all running off 2 seperate screens. Is this possible with the FS9 MD11? I understand a alternate panel.cfg is being created but how much can I move to my other screens in the aircrafts current state? Thanks and well done to all at PMDGRob

Rob,The setup you describe is possible to achieve with the FS9 MD-11. All panel windows you listed can appear as pop-up windows (in either the 2D panel or the VC) and be undocked, moved, resized etc. There are also keyboard commands you can assign from the PMDG menu to hide/unhide each one of them. The alternate panel.cfg (which will be shortly available for FS9) is adding the functionality to be able to undock the 3 DUs (PFD, ND, EAD).Without it you can only have a pop-up window with the SD (the equivelant of the 747 Lower EICAS) and a pop-up window that will display either the ND or the PFD or the EAD.
