Im planning on building a new system. I want fs9 to run smooth!!. I also like pmdg, level-d, lots of scenery addons. my current 5 year old system studders in heavy senery areas. I dont want to spend a lot of money on a high end system. can someone please tell me what works well? or do i need to buy a high end system? thanks Matt

Hi Matt, You won't need today's high end system to run FS9 with those wonderful addons. DDR2 memory, a nice cheap Core 2 Duo is fine, and a decent video card, like an 8800GT is ample. But that system will struggle with FSX and higher end addons for FSX. If you want headroom for FSX then go for highest end CPU/memory as you can muster, and add in at least an 8800GT or better. How about posting what you currenty have now? This way you can say you'd like something 3x as potent as you ahve now, or whatever you think you need. I tell you tho, it's hard to go back to FS9 after you've had FSX running well. Even so, FS9 is decent in its own right.
