RTWR2009 Team Avsim is looking for YOU!

Recommended Posts

Are you interested in working as a team in a Flight Simulator multiplayer/Teamspeak environment? Are you proficient with flying fast propeller-driven aircraft? Would you like to devote some of your free time to help advance our cause? If so, Team Avsim is looking for YOU! Every February, each of several forums (Avsim.com, Flightsim.com, Sim-Outhouse.com and the new addition FS-MP.com) put together teams of pilots to advance a virtual 'baton' around the world, landing on all 7 continents except Antarctica, first forum back to the start/finish airport wins the fabulous Tornado Trophy! Flights tend to be flown online in FSHost multiplayer, using Teamspeak for voice communication, and are flown around the clock as the race is done in real-time. As such, pilots are needed around the clock to keep the baton moving forward. Rules for this year's specific race will only be released a day or two before the race starts, but the rules for last year's race are still available at the RTWR official website (URL posted below), and should give you some idea of what to expect. Both FS9 and FSX are supported. The official RTWR website can be reached at: http://www.fsrtwrace.com/ The official forum for Team Avsim is found at: http://forums1.avsim.net/index.php?showforum=227 If you're interested in joining our team, head on over to the Team Avsim RTWR forum and say hello, and indicate you want to join our team. You can also ask any questions you may have about the race, our team, the rules, our team policies, anything. Once you have an idea of the baton posting rules, feel free to join in the practice threads. Once we know you're serious about joining the team, we will give you access to the private team forum for our secret planning and other secret communication between team members. There is still time to join the team! Check us out, join the fun and camaraderie that goes along with it. Race starts on Saturday, February 21st, the time has not yet been posted but "usually" has been around noon Eastern time (GMT-5).

The RTW race truly is one of the most fun and exciting things you can do in Flight Simulator!I have added an informational (kind of, at least) FAQ for new racers, and a check-inthread where you can say hi, so you don't have to start an entirely new thread to do that!
