February 14, 200917 yr I want to be able to do flight planning that will actually set me up for a realistic approach from the last waypoint to the runway, etc...i am having trouble doing this with the built in FSX flight planner. Is there either:a) a better way to do this with the built in flight planner, if so how? i read through the documentation but didn't see anything about this really, or(:( a freeware flight planner i could download that would be better?

Jim put out a short tutorial a couple of years ago on this very subject, and specifically how to do it using the built-in planner. i7 [email protected] | 32GB RAM | EVGA RTX 3080Ti | Maximus Hero VII | 512GB 860 Pro | 512GB 850 Pro | 256GB 840 Pro | 2TB 860 QVO | 1TB 870 EVO | Seagate 3TB Cloud | EVGA 1000 GQ | Win10 Pro | EK Custom water cooling.
February 15, 200917 yr I don't know what kind of flying you do, but here's what I do for realistic airline routes. I go to here : http://flightaware.com/analysis/route.rvt and plug in my departure and arrival airports. This gives me a list of real world airline routes for my flight including SIDS and STARS and preferred cruise alts. I then take this info here: http://www.simroutes.com/ go to the "generate route" section and copy in the route I just found. I can now make a downloadable flightplan in the MSFS format of my choice. Hope this helps.CraigG
