Active Sky X: "Object Reference..."

Recommended Posts

Guest bscarlett2000

I'm running ActiveSky X on a remote computer, and it has been working fine. However, about a week ago, after I started the system, ActiveSky X started giving the following error at startup:"Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click continue ....Object Reference not set to an instance of an object"In the Details section, the error states its a "System.NullReferenceException: Object Reference not set to an instance of an object at XEngine Main.allThreadscomplete()...."If I select Continue, the ActiveSky X logo screen will show, and indicating it is loading, but nothing happens and I eventually have to kill the process. This is 100% repeatible.I have other programs running on the system, that use FSUIPC/WIDEFS and SimConnect and they are all working fine. This ActiveSky X error occurs when running alone, or in conjunction when on of the above is running.I've tried a install/repair, which didn't correct the problem. I then uninstalled and reinstalled, again no joy. Thanks,B

Hi,This error can be caused by a few potential situtations:1) Corrupt font (Fix: Run windows setup/repair or one of several freeware font/system checker utilities)2) Problematic .NET 2.0 installation (Fix: Uninstall .NET 2.0, reinstall from MS or you can uninstall/reinstall ASX which includes .NET 2.0 installation).Does this help?Best,

Hi Damian, Thanks for the suggestions. I've re-unistalled ActiveSkyX, verified the fonting and uninstalled/re-installed .NET 2.0, from MS. I then re-installed ActiveSky X, and unfortunately am still getting the same issue. Is there any additional debug 'stuff' I can collect and send to you to assist in diagnosing the problem? Thanks,Brad
