Water Airports - lack of

Featured Replies

Was reading this the other day:http://www.fsinsider.com/freeflight/Docume...%20in%20FSX.pdfand it appears that water runways are limited to airports in US, and a small few in Germany, Midway Islands and Puerto Rico. There are no water runways in e.g. the Maldives, which i find a bit strange. Anyway I was thinking about doing a little modding project to add water runways and water plane missions but thought i'd ask first if it is possible to add your own water airports. Cheers

Of course it is possible. Check out ADE (Airport Design Editor), a freeware tool available via FS Developer:http://www.fsdeveloper.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=95

If you are adding your own water airports, be aware that FSX sometimes has problems if the water runway is too close to an existing land runway. Nothing critical, but sometimes FSX may confuse the two.Jeff ShylukSenior Staff ReviewerAVSIM
