Just started having a similarproblem. ASA worked fine since I installed it but now theinitalload window comes up,goes throught the internet, station etc bar and when complete only shows on the task bar. No window appearson the screen and I cannot select it from the task bar. I tried uninstalling it and manually deleting the files described above but no chane. I did notice there is no log file present anymore in the homefolder. Only recent change was an upgrade to a new version of FSUIPC 4.5. Tried rolling back version toprevious FSUIPC but no change.Larry

Larry, sorry to hear that, but glad to know I am maybe not the only one, Tweaks I have made to my system go back many years and after reviewing them which are not many, I can find nothing which I think relates to these problems. I am currently manually turning on things which I have currently turned off, and those have never been a source of problems in the past. I am hopeful this will be corrected soon. I have since gone back to ASv6.5 which still delivers great stuff. I don't think your FSUIPC will solve anything, I am thinking it is something in the programing, something like a key which nn everything just right or problems. Be sure you remove all files/folders, using windows explorer that have anything to do with the ASA program, even empty folders, reboot and try installing again. I did not worry about Xguage in acrft CFG folders as it did not affect the reinstallation. You probably already know this....VB

Hi Larry,Sorry for the problem. What you should do is install the SP1 Beta located at the top of this forum. This is one of the fixes. Then you should be good to go.Thanks,

That is the opening screen to ASA, which I forgot to tell you, when it is loading..I went through my system today looking at things which I have changed from auto start to disabled to manual start and looking at the items I don't know what would have an effect on ASA program. For me I am hoping for a lead which will point me in the right direction. All my other many add-on's have never experienced this sort of conflict. You guys must have some kind of new thing going on here which is drastically different from the past...any ideas what that could be?I will keep on plugging along...Thanks VB
Hi,The setting is a display setting under display properties. If I remembered more I would sure share it with you. I have checked all my current e-mails and I didn't find the answer. I even tried to find a post here thinking I dealt with it here. It's not a program or such that is starting or not starting. When this setting did is make the map blank for another user just as yours is blank. His border was the same also. So far it is just he and you that have experienced this issue. I wish I could remember more. Thanks,

JIM, I want you to save this, just in case it ever happens again. Look under "Accessibilty Opitions in the Control Panel, UNCHECK the box USE HIGH CONTRAST, THIS IS THE FIX.........I stumbled on it by accident and remembered your usage of the word High Contrast, so I unchecked it and loaded ASA and SHAZAM........maybe include this in manual as it is not a tweak, just a window setting which must be in place. THANK YOU for all your time. Now one last thing,I want to use textures in ASv6.5 as they are just fantastic, I know you gave me some direction on this but can you elaborate w/ picture instructions at some point, I followed your last instructions but still not clear on how it is suppose to work. Pictures on this stuff works better. Thank you again, Vincent

Hi,Thanks so much. I have posted a sticky note on this so I will not forget!I would post some screen shots, but my ASA and ASv6.5 are on a networked computer with no shapshot program. Let me give you the steps:With ASA and ASv6.5 installed on the same computer:1. In ASA in FS9 mode go to the Graphics page.2. Click on the Extended Integration Icon. A new popup window will open up.3. One Window will ask for how many sets to generate. We suggest to start with 20.4. The other Window will ask for the category. Just leave it as All Types.5. Then click on the OK button. ASA will pull the textures from ASv6.5 and form the snapshots automatically.6. Now when you process a flightplan in ASA you will be asked if you wish for ASA to install a Snapshot. Click on OK and textures will be installed into FS04. This part is really no different then what happened with ASv6.5!Give these steps a try and let me know if something is confusing! Thanks,

Hi,My ASA was not loading since I bought it (4 days ago) and a message "Arial black is not compatible with Bold" was displayed and ASA stopping loading with the error. I tried "Accessibilty Opitions in the Control Panel, UNCHECK the box USE HIGH CONTRAST, THIS IS THE FIX....post by Vincent but the box was unchecked and that was not the problem for me, but give me a light and in control panel\Fonts\Tools\Options\True type Fonts there is a option box to use only true type fonts for all programs and after check this box finally ASA works for the first time! Thanks AllUsing WIN XP PROF SP 3Fern
