March 5, 200917 yr Captains,I got myself a powerful box a few months ago to be able to migrate from FS9 to FSX. I then checked out the DX10 preview and instantly fell in love with it. I really like those nifty VC shadows as they provide a sense ot "motion". So, I went looking for "Full FSX" models in the add on universe and came across Carenado's products. Carenado claim all their models are "Fully FSX" compatible, including the VC shadows so I bought the Mooney and took it for a spin.To my surprise I saw no VC shadows. I double checked everything and made sure VC shadows did work in the stock models. Next, I contacted Carenado and they're currently investigating, claiming this has never been reported before.I'm not really asking for help here but I'm just curious to know how these things work. I find it somewhat surprising that individual models need to support this fature; I would have expected it to work "at the core" so to say. Once the feature is activated in the rendering pipe it should impact all models. Obviously, this is not the case. Does anyone know why?Cheers/Jonas ----------------------------------------------------- i7 920 @ 3.6 GHz; 6Gb DDR3; Windows 7 Ultimate x64; Sim disk=300Gb 10,000rpm (VelociRaptor); OS disk=300Gb 7,200rpm Radeon HD 4870 X2; Audigy 2 ZS; Dual monitors=24" Dell Widescreen (TFT) & 19" BenQ (TFT) FSX Acceleration
March 6, 200917 yr Many addon developers do not implement VC shadows as it would add too much of a drain to the these days usually very complex interiors. Mathias www.classics-hangar.de
