Here's my problem....I keep getting what I guess is a disk access freeze up where my flight stops and starts...not always. I get good FPS 30-40, I have most of my sliders max out except AI. I have a separate hard drive for FSX which I defrag often. I run a dual core 3.2 with 4 gigs of ram, 4 monitors, yoke, pedals.....the works. I using XP with all the drivers up to date...I'am wondering could it be my firewall? I use live weather so I hate to disengage it. Any thoughts?

Hi,Sounds you're low on physical memory and its swapping a lot, hence the pauses whilst it shifts data between RAM and the hard disk.Defragging every 5 minutes isn't required, and only increases your chances of a data error significantly.Best regards,Robin.
