March 23, 200917 yr I'm surely no expert on the behavior of the autoflight system for the MD-11, but a lot of procedure call for pressing PROF at 400' AGL and/or below thrust reduction altitude.Things seem to work best for me if I arm PROF on the ground prior to takeoff roll.
