Well, I'm slowly working through the tutorial, not bee airborne yet though. Got as far as page 15 of the tutorial then had to go, I was unable to save my flight (my ignorance). I'm hoping to have another go later today and to get airborne ..... watch this space.

Congrats man. Once you learn it completely you will fall in LOVE with the md-11. I know I did!! :( James

Quick query on the tutorial if anyone can help.Page 22 says to press the 'PROF' button on pass ing the 1500ft radio altitude.I can find the button after passing 1500fr on the altimeter but nothing seems to happen and 'CLB THRUST' is not displayed on the FMA, have I missed something?regards

I'm surely no expert on the behavior of the autoflight system for the MD-11, but a lot of procedure call for pressing PROF at 400' AGL and/or below thrust reduction altitude.Things seem to work best for me if I arm PROF on the ground prior to takeoff roll. Then I fly manually to acceleration height, upon passing this altitude, I engage Autoflight and start to retract flaps.
